I've never seen him and I don't follow HS baseball, but my parents are friends with his parents, so I my dad excitedly called me to tell me he was drafted by the Sox. Ronald Morales, LHP, Wichita St, 6'3", 195 A senior that made 7 appearances, all out of the pen, this year with an ERA of 8.10. 4 K in 3.1 IP. Ok... Profile  Tigers and Astros called it a draft.  The White Sox stop after 45 rounds. It's pretty clear how the end of draft and follows have shortened the draft for a lot of teams. Story on Kenneth Gilbert  Hard not to read that and like him. It could be the typical hype that a pro prospect would get in high school, but you never know. This link says he is a good contact hitter with good speed and projectable power. He also doesn't have a college commitment that I can find. It's always interesting to see who ends up slipping through the cracks. He's got good grades and had top college programs going after him, maybe he just wanted to go pro? I gave Greg a dozen authentic MLB baseballs and told him if he could get 8 signed for me, the other four balls were his to do what he wanted. After the game, he gave me a box with:  Cal Ripken (2) Eddie Murray Curt Schilling Mike Mussina Scott Rolen Albert Belle (it said "Best Wishes Albert Belle" lol) Ron Gant  Not bad for one Saturday afternoon. The kid has very good defensive skills and a solid bat. I think he could turn into a nice find a few years from now. Â Another interesting guy is Justin Klip. I've seen him throw a few times and he actually models his game after Garland (per the school's website). His stuff doesn't really wow you (I saw him pitch a week ago). In fact, at one point I was like jesus this guy is going to get lit up (upper 80's) but he gets exceptional sink on his fastball and will throw in a good breaking ball down in the zone (really does an outstanding job of keeping the ball down).
