Comcast just played a clip of Ozzie from Vegas and he addressed Swish:

 

I take blame for that [swisher's poor season]. You know what, put it this way; Swisher is not a center fielder. He plays center field, but he's not a natural center fielder. He's not a leadoff hitter. We put this kid in a spot it was hard because we no have any place for him. And the thing not go well for him last month of the season, but as a manager, I appreciate what Swisher did for us. Meanwhile, if we keep Swisher on this ballclub, we gonna have the same situation we had last year.

I know that's the title of the article, but did Ozzie actually say he won't be missed? From the quotes provided at that link Ozzie seemed a tad more diplomatic than that

 

Ozzie was very diplomatic in the interviews right after the trade... yet most of the articles that came out made it sound like he threw Swisher under the bus and backed over his body a couple of times.

 

Sports writers making **** up. That's about all it was. Dave VanDyke, Cowley, and others... trying to make it more 'interesting' than it was.
