Slayer just announced the name of their new album... coincidence?

Slayer the band is quite disturbing. Slayer the White Sox infielder will make the world forget there was a band. Slayer the band will start writing power ballads to pay homage to Beckham's gorgeous swing.

Over under on Hawk saying "Good looking young ball player" today is 3.

Guillen will get another look at the A’s future when Brett Anderson(notes) (2-5, 5.70 ERA) takes the hill. After winning his previous two starts, the left-hander allowed a season-high six runs and eight hits in four innings of a 14-1 loss to Texas on Saturday.

Anderson is 1-2 with a 6.46 ERA on the road.

Mark Buehrle(notes) (6-1, 2.71), who failed to get a decision in his last two starts, will go for the White Sox. He gave up three runs and seven hits in 7 1-3 innings of a 5-3 win over Kansas City on Saturday.

The left-hander is 4-0 with a 1.60 ERA in six starts at U.S. Cellular Field. He’s 0-3 with 4.12 ERA in his last three starts versus Oakland, and 3-11 with a 4.09 ERA in 19 career starts against the A’s.

Jason Giambi(notes), who hit his seventh homer Wednesday, is 9 for 22 (.409) with two home runs and three doubles against Buehrle.

WHO THE HELL ELSE IS HE SUPPOSED TO PLAY OUT THERE???

Assuming Anderson is still not well, same with Getzobviously Wise has to play. Unless you want Ramon Castro or Jim Thome in CF - because that is the entire bench for this game (scary thought, actually).

If Anderson is sick then Wise has a chance to shut me up. I hope he goes 5 for 5.

I really, really hope he doesn't go 5-5. That would just give Ozzie a reason to keep him playing.

So if the Sox win today and the Tigers lose today (down 3 to Bawston now) the Sox are merely 2.5 games out of first.

God Bless the AL Central. :headbang

But it's a young pitcher, winning today is gonna be tough. Let's hope to reverse the trend of getting absolutely owned by new guys.

Oh well.

He could go 5 for 5 or 0 for 7 with 9 LOB and Ozzie would use him exactly the same. Might as well hope for the 5 for 5 so we can try to win some games.

True True, he's young, but at least we've heard of this guy, which removes the 'never heard of this guy' angle that always gaurantees a Sox loss.
