Ugh. He hasn't given Ozzie any reason to play him over Wise with the bat lately. He could try doing us all a favor and getting some damned hits! The way it is going, Wise could stick around when TCQ comes back and Fields could go to Charlotte.

Does he really need to? Has Wise done ANYTHING to even have a spot on a major league team at this point?

But then what happens if Gordon really struggles and has to go back down to the minors?

You play him regardless. Let's face it...if we can't count on Beckham in the next 3-5 years, then this entire rebuilding of the farm system is destined to fail.

Trade Fields, takes pressure off Becks.

Gordon Beckham might be putting pressure on himself, but it has nothing to do with Josh Fields.

OTOH, Beckham's promotion has gotten into Josh's head. First Joe Crede, now Beckham...he feels "victimized" by the organization and wants to use that as an excuse for not holding the position.

3B hit for power OR field. Do one or the other Josh, doing NEITHER doesn't guarantee you a position in ANY organization, not even Washington.

maybe, or if necessary you send him back to work on specific things. He's what 22? A short stretch in the majors shouldn't define his career

? That is actually the complete opposite. Beckham has nothing to lose. He is the future. Not every guy turns into Longoria/Bruce when they first show up to the bigs. Josh is the one who has a foggy future with our club and even he said it.

Kinda confused what you mean here Mike, especially considering the kid is a rookie, but I guess you have a point.

We have quite a few players on this team that really press too hard when they get going badly, instead of relaxing and letting it happen. If Beckham is like that, he fits right in.

With Gordo you can definitely see he's pressing. When he gets his first hit, I'm sure it'll be smooth sailing for him IMO.

He's been robbed of a couple so far and you are right it is coming

At least he has a clue up there...and a chance...unlike Fields.
