Who we face on the home stand:

Tigers- Oliver, Verlander, Penny

Mariners- Pineda, Hernandez, Vargas

A's- Cahill, Gonzalez, Anderson, Outman

Sign me up for 6-4 now, I'll take it.

5 lefties, plus Verlander, Pineda, Felix, and Cahill...good luck, Dunner.

We haven't caught much of a break with anyone's rotation this season. We've seen the best. But I like our chances given our own pitching. 8-2, losses to Verlander and Cahill.

We're not hitting Verlander. That Seattle series will be rough, Pineda's just as good as Felix right now. The Sox are one of the only AL teams to not have much trouble against Cahill.

The Mariners released Manny Delcarmen today. He hasn't been good for a couple years now and was not good in AAA, but he was real good before. I gotta imagine he is better than Bruney or Marquez. I think we should make a play for him.

Didn't we almost trade Jermaine Dye for Delcarmen and Wily mo Pena?

Nice memory.

Remember, these situations are fluid, but while the White Sox remain hopeful of persuading the Sox to make a deal for outfielder Jermaine Dye, the price remains too high for Boston.

Chicago would take Wily Mo Pena but want either Manny Delcarmen or Justin Masterson. The Red Sox will not part with either for a rent-a-player like Dye, who is eligible for free agency after the season.

There is a decent chance that the Red Sox will not make a substantive deal before tomorrow's 4 p.m. deadline, but stay tuned.

I wish we could have got Masterson, would have saved the Sox some embarrassing games against him.

Masterson's a good pitcher who will keep getting better. You gotta wonder about his health though, his mechanics are sketchy on the elbow.

With the win today, the Sox are 18-12 against teams above .500. 9-19 against teams under. It makes no sense.

I can't believe anyone would group Masterson with Declarmen. Both were highly thought of back then, but I gotta assume Masterson was on a higher level. Injury concerns or not, masterson for Dye would have been awesome!

Does Declarmen still throw in the mid to high 90s? If so, he'd be worth the risk.

An old saying when 2 fools meet one for offering and the other for not taking the offer.

That's awesome, I hope we draft some of his grinders once he has a few years to teach them how to give 110%.

That's impossible no one can give more than 100%. By definition that's the most anyone can give.

No, it's because guys like Erstad and Rowand gave it more than their all that guys like Rios can't help but to give it less. It's not his fault.

What if they are bad at baseball? You don't move up in the standings if you try harder than the other team
