mlb tv

This is my second time getting it.. had it in 09 as well and loved it. All the videos are choppy right now but I don't remember it being like this back then. So either they are working the kinks out for the first few weeks or it has something to do with all the different porn viruses fighting for control of my computer.

I think I have a pretty good connection in this house I'm renting but I wouldn't know how to check. I really think it has to do with porn virus. If any computer guys read this and would like to offer a bit of assistance I'd most appreciate a PM (I'm running AVGfree and Spybot).

Sorry for the half hijack. Get the premium, it's good.

Make sure you're watching the game in HD, the box on the bottom.

To determinte your speed, go here: speedtest.net, anything above 2000KB is sufficient really.

EDIT: Now that you mention that, that picture is def NOT HD, so it's not your computer.

I second that. If you have a 2-3mb per second download speed everything should stream fine in HD, speedtest.net is a place to check that. I personally am out of the country so what I do is stream the games from my PS3 to my digital TV and the quality is pretty darn incredible. I love my MLB.TV

My friend and I are sharing MLB.tv accounts right now on our PS3's. It's really awesome, except for being blacked out from like 4 or 5 teams, including the Sox. Until I find a good proxy for use, I will just have to find random streaming sources to watch the Sox game, and then once the game is archived on mlb.tv, I can go back and watch certain innings or plays.

But right now I got the Yankees/Tigers game going, and will have the A's/M's game as soon as it starts.

That's good to hear. I tried MLB.TV back in 2003 and it blew - slow, choppy, and I couldn't get on at times.

I may give it a try this year, as it gives me the option to watch at work. I also don't really feel like switching from cable to satellite just for Extra Innings.

Pretty sure you can't do the proxy thing anymore, because they use your billing address to determine whether or not you're blacked out. Which screws people over who go out of state and want to check out a Sox game. You'll get an error and have to reauthorize by having to call them or something. Happened to me last year repeatedly, so I decided not to renew for this year. F that noise

As far as that Proxy thing is concerned, there are definitely ways to trick the system. I went on a road trip out west in april 09 and brought my computer. When I got back it thought I lived in Colorado for the rest of the season so I got every Sox game. Maybe try driving to somewhere in Michigan and get into Tiger Country with your laptop and connect to somebody's Wifi. Maybe change your home zip while you are out there. It definitely works just not sure how to do it.

OK, I fully admit I'm a computer retard, I took that test and my test results were 1.95 Mbps download speed and 0.71 upload speed.

Is that good enough for HD on MLB.TV?

You think that's bad..I'm at .33 for each. I know it's all virus and registry BS.

lol yea its great, why cant you get it, u get blacked out?

I used to live in San Diego where I had Directv but I'm living in Mexico because my job took me there, I could get SKY but their version of Extra Innings consist of 2 MLB games per day and they are random games...so at best I might get 1 or 2 White Sox games a month while I'll get a ton of Yankees/Red Sox/Dodgers games

Due to price and the fact I'm soon looking to move from DirecTV to UVerse, I dropped Extra Innings this year after having it for the past 6 or 7 years. I already miss it. I've found MLBTV to be choppy at times and fuzzy at others. I have a 6MB connection, usually running about 5.5MB, so bandwidth constraint shouldn't be causing these issues.

To answer you earlier question, 1.95 SHOULD be ok, from experience, I was watching mlb.tv on a 1MB connection last summer, but had to downgrade from HD to regualar.

It was still worth it, in my humble opinion.

Found out today that we're getting a generous refund from the IRS, so I'll go ahead and throw the $120 down on MLB.TV. I like the option of being able to watch games archived from earlier in the day.

If you're a true baseball fan, trust me, it's worth it. I've got the extra innings package. I get bored with only the White Sox at times. I'm a baseball fan well before I'm a White Sox fan.

Is the MLB.TV integrated with ps3?

EDIT: NM, I used Google.
