Learned alot of little things that should help. Their tech is great and they send you all of the videos for download. However, their lesson pricing is just ridiculous. $450 for 5 30 minute lessons? Now fully engaged in the golf world for the year. Can't wait for the weather to turn so I can get out and start swinging again. I went to a golfsmith and swung about 4 different sets that were in my price range and had good reviews online. It's free and they give you an idea of your swing speed, the flight of the ball, what clubs feel best in your hands, what clubs have the best sweet spot and forgiveness, etc. I was going to do the $60 or $100 dollar fitting with a specialist but I decided it probably wasn't worth it since I know my swing pretty well and know the issues that I have to keep working on (and i'm not abnormaly tall, short, wide, etc. requiring anything special). If you've had lessons, it's probably not necessary since you know the main goals of the swing and you probably know some of the issues you have with yours already. Then the issue is whether to buy new or used. You can save some money buying used. And you can also save some money buying at the end of the season. Once you find the set you want, look around at sports authority, dick's, golf world, golf galaxy, etc. I ended up testing the clubs I got at golfsmith and then I bought them on their website during a promotion with $100 off $250 or more (which they have pretty frequently). Then search on 2nd swing for those exact ones for more than 50% off what they charge you. I would go to at least 2 places to make sure you try the kinds you want. Let me check my CDGA cal and see if there are any good upcoming ones real quick. That is usually a good resource. I've been to the PGA store recently to double check my club pro's fitting measurement and they were pretty darn good. About 60-65 and no one was on the course. Hit some good shots and some bad shots. Ended up with an 87. For the first time out, hitting a couple new clubs (I did take some mulligans), pretty pleased. I liked the course a lot, very challenging, but I dunno that I'd pay the full summer rate. I had to walk the course too. I haven't done that since high school. Holy crap am I sore.
