I think the Molina promotion is a bit premature. He wasn't exactly dominating AA. I just don't see the need to rush him.

At first I thought this was a Marty34 post until I read the poster name, lol.

This could be a 1 start, big league double header caused move.

I'd support that.

I like Molina. Don't think he will be an ace, but more of a middle of the rotation type which is certainly valuable. I just don't really see the need to rush any of the prospects right now. Though to be fair the Sox generally have an okay handle on their pitching prospects. Much more so than position players.

Age is the only reason I can see. Hell, even Addison Reed was #66 going in to the year.

Relievers have significantly less value than any other position.

Addison Reed struck out 111 and walked 14 in 78.1 innings and reached AAA (and the Majors) at 22 last year. Their numbers are comparable. There's no 'even Addison Reed.' Reed did this last year at higher levels while being younger. If he was only 66, Tolleson is fringe top 100.

And Reed was a 3rd round pick, so he is a know quantity.

Mark Gonzales ‏ @MDGonzales

Sox promote infielder Drew Garcia (Dave's grandson) and outfielder Justin Greene from AA Birmingham to AAA Charlotte.

Hm I wonder what the corresponding moves will be.

I'll go ahead and get it out of the way...more playing time for KW Jr.

Hopefully it will mean more playing time for Jon Gilmore.

Maybe Dubler will actually get to play this year.

He's healthy, was the bullpen catcher for the Barons before going up to Charlotte. Luis Sierra's not hitting and Espino is playing 5 or 6 games in a row at a time.

Also, per seanjon21, Terance Marin is being promoted to W-S.

That'll require a corresponding move. Stephen McCray got pulled from the W-S rotation, could be swapped out for Marin?

Confirmed, Chris Devenski to Kannapolis in his place. W-S will need to make room for Marin.
