To be completely honest, once a pitcher is struggling it's probably a better thing to find out he was hurt. If Buch isn't hurt then it's his stuff that isn't good enough. If he is hurt, he can rehab and be back to full form and become a legit prospect again. It's kind of a weird thing to 'root' for. Rehabbing sucks for the person, but in the long run he probably comes out stronger.

Three More Roster Moves

Matt Wickswat is back in Winston-Salem (Steve Orcutt/W-S Dash).

The Chicago White Sox have been shuffling around the Dash’s roster frequently. Since June 1, Winston-Salem has had 39 roster moves, which calculates to almost one per day.

Three more moves took place yesterday, with right-hander Salvador Sanchez heading to Double-A Birmingham, southpaw Matt Wickswat joining the Dash from Birmingham and righty Ryan Buch heading to the disabled list.

Sanchez has been a quick riser through the White Sox system based on his appearances. The former outfielder made two appearances with rookie-level Great Falls last season. Here in 2012, he had worked twice in rookie-level Bristol and once in Low-A Kannapolis before joining the Dash. In Winston-Salem, Sanchez appeared in three games and posted four scoreless innings. He has not allowed a run in his nine career minor league innings.

Wickswat rejoins the Dash after spending much of 2011 in Winston-Salem. The Bellevue, Wash., native went 6-6 with a 4.03 ERA in 23 games (13 starts) with the Dash a year ago. With Double-A Birmingham this season, Wickswat was 1-6 with an 11.67 ERA in 16 appearances (seven starts). He will join the Dash’s bullpen.

Buch is heading to the disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. The new reliever has struggled in his role. He has a 12.10 ERA in five relief efforts, but he did dominate Low-A a few weeks ago while with Kannapolis. Buch allowed only one earned run in 10 innings of action.

The Dash and Myrtle Beach Pelicans kick off a four-game series tonight from TicketReturn.com Field at 7:05 p.m. Listen live to all the action beginning at 6:50 here. Talk to you then.

Right shoulder inflammation for Buch, huh? I still have hope for him. He profiles similarly to the current group of young pitchers in the bullpen.

He said yesterday he is supposed to have an MRI.

I wonder if he is a Sergio Santos type situation where he is out of options?

Yeah, it's do or tie time for him. They have to test him and find out in a hurry what he's capable of.

Is there a reason the last game/box thread was closed for the minor league games?

Probably a misclick. There's a feature for the admins and mods where all you have to do to close/open a thread is to click the folder icon to the left of the thread title. Nothing intentional I assure you.

Yeah, usually if threads are closed, we will throw a reason why at the end. If not, it was probably an accidental click, and if you PM someone, they will fix it.

Jeff Passan ‏@JeffPassan

MLB today suspended a Phillies farmhand named Ranger Suarez for using the same steroid as Rafael Palmeiro. Suarez is 16.

That'll keep Suarez out of the Hall of Fame.

Cause for Concern-Barnum has missed the last 19 games because of a shoulder injury. Any news on his progress and to the extent of his injury.

I've asked around on that as well, not getting an answer yet.

How has his stuff looked?

I know it's only been 9 innings, but he's got a 0 ERA, .44 WHIP, and 8 Ks across four levels. It's shocking to see a guy just converted to a pitcher move so damn fast.

Haven't seen him.
