I'm really looking forward to Molina's and Castro's next starts. Who's with me?

Molina tonite. Castro Sunday (I'm guessing) for the Barons. These guys could be a big part of the near future and redemption for KW.

Or not.

Any way to watch said games free online?

Highly unlikely. But you can purchase MiLB.tv for like $9.99 a month, or like $30 for the whole season. It's a helluva deal if you like to follow the minor leaguers.

Some Axelrod love

http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article....articleid=16622

Dylan Axelrod, RHP, White Sox (Triple-A Charlotte)

The fact that Axelrod even reached the big leagues is quite an achievement. A 30th-round pick in 2007 by the Padres, Axelrod lasted a year and a half before landing in Indy ball, but all he did was get better. His primary skill is the ability to throw strikes. He pounds the strike zone with an 88-91 mph fastball, has a decent slider, and a somewhat-less-than-decent curve. He has no changeup, but he hits his spots and keeps hitters off balance; while that's the kind of pitcher who should hit a wall, he just hasn't yet. With 7 2/3 shutout innings on Sunday, he now has a 1.08 ERA in four starts for the Knights to go with 26 strikeouts and just four walks. He's already a great scouting find for the White Sox, and has to upgrade that status by becoming a usable arm as a No. 5 starter or middle reliever, which exceeds any expectation ever put on him.

Somehow I don't see Dylan being successful in a sandbox like Chicago. I bet he gets traded to a pitcher's ballpark, ala San Diego (yes I know he started there).

Charlotte isn't exactly a pitchers park either, right?

Two Roster Moves

J.R. Ballinger is back in Winston-Salem (Steve Orcutt/W-S Dash).

Prior to today’s game against the Potomac Nationals, the White Sox made a couple of moves that affect the Dash.

Jimmy Ballinger, who goes by J.R., has been activated from the disabled list and added to the Dash’s 25-man roster. A native of Moss Point, Miss., Ballinger spent much of the 2011 season in Winston-Salem. He went 4-2 with a 5.23 earned run average in 18 appearances with the Dash. The right-hander also made an appearance with Triple-A Charlotte in ’11 and tossed three and a third scoreless innings.

To make room for Ballinger, the White Sox released Paul Burnside. Burnside made four appearances for the Dash this season and stumbled to an earned run average of 16.88. Last season with Low-A Kannapolis, Burnside went 8-4 with a 3.22 earned run average mostly as a starter, but he switched to the bullpen with Winston prior to his release.

Winston-Salem’s bullpen has been a strong unit throughout the season’s first 16 games. In 59 innings of work, Dash relievers boast a 2.75 ERA. Overall, Winston checks in at fourth in the CL with a 4.00 ERA.

Can Cooper also fix Dontrelle Willis? Seems like he would be a better option than Wil Ohman at some point in the future.

BALTIMORE -- Dontrelle Willis filed a grievance Tuesday afternoon against the Orioles. He left the team's Triple-A Norfolk affiliate without the organization's permission after being placed on the Minor League restricted list.

Matt Sosnick (same guy who was Josh Hamilton's original agent but was essentially fired for not being Christian later...Sosnick is Jewish) is Willis' agent and told MLB.com on Tuesday that the pitcher wanted to get back to being a starter and not come out of the bullpen.

"We have not been contact[ed] by one team," Sosnick said. "We don't have a job lined up ... all we want to do is find a job in Triple-A where he can start. Out of respect for the process and the rules, Dontrelle never would have left if they told us he couldn't. He's having a really hard time going through the process of relieving. He's much more comfortable starting and going through the process of starting."

Willis asked for his release last Wednesday or Thursday and has been gone since Thursday.

O's executive vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette confirmed to MLB.com on Monday that Willis had left Norfolk, and there were no plans to grant Willis his official release.

At the time, Duquette also told MLB.com that he hasn't spoken with Willis since the pitcher left Norfolk.

The 30-year-old Willis sat down with Duquette while the team was playing at Gwinnett (Ga.) on Thursday, and Duquette said the organization laid out a plan to get Willis the innings he needed to build him up to be a successful reliever. Duquette said Willis didn't have a problem with the plan at the time, and the organization is still holding out hope that Willis will return.

Signed to a Minor League deal by Baltimore after being released this spring by the Phillies, the plan from the get-go was to have Willis learn to become a lefty specialist. He suffered a left forearm strain April 12 and was placed on the restricted list -- with no specific reasoning for the move -- on Sunday night.

It said the median age for AA is 24, that's way off. The average AA player is 25-26.

I know, exactly. The median age is 24. This isn't something they made up or suggested. They figured it out.

The average age would be higher with older players skewing the numbers, something they also mentioned.

I think my draft thread died due to inactivity. Finally graduating and becoming a full-time salaried member of the workforce leaves much less time for pointless baseball draft research and forum posting.

Anyhow, Sickels and Garrioch have their second mock draft up here. Obviously it will be far from accurate, as we are six weeks or so away from the draft, and the CBA changes will make it even harder to predict. Still fun to read though.

Like I've posted previously, I'm a fan of Strahan and would be fond of this pick. Though it doesn't seem realistic with the organization's aversion to prep players, especially in the 1st round. There is the possibility that CBA changes have altered the White Sox approach to the draft though. There is much more incentive for high school players to go to college if picked in later rounds, so the highly touted prep players should largely be picked up early. The Sox might also simply pick the BPA now that spending has been reigned in a bit. It's likely much more complicated than that though with how the organization decides to allocate their assigned amount, or even if they spend it all.

I'm personally on the Marcus Stroman bandgwagon and would love if he fell to 13. I'd wager he's snatched up in the top ten though.

The Barons are definitely higher on average.

I think that is the whole point. Everyone is higher on average.

What I'm saying is that average age of the current Barons roster is 26 1/2 years old.
