Not anymore.

Shoemaker in Birmingham's lineup, so everyone can finally shut the f*** up about that.

One run in 3 innings for Rienzo. Not exactly torched.

Thompson hit those two homers off a righty having a good season.

Thompson is having a bizarre season so far. He is hitting .246/.322/.551 against righties with 13 of his 16 HR against them. Meanwhile, lefties are killing him to the tune of .195/.297/.356 in 87 AB. He is walking a bit more against lefties, but other than that everything is worse. If he had normal lefty/righty splits for a right-handed batter with his numbers against righties he'd be having a phenomenal season.

Last year he had a .951 OPS against lefties and a .721 against righties. What on earth could cause such a sharp swing?

Kyle Robinson, 2011 28th round pick, outfielder. Spent last year at Bristol at age 22, put up a pretty bad .204/.273/.382/.655 line, and struck out a lot. This year at 23 at GF, so far in 15 games: .446/.544/.625/1.169. More walks than strikeouts, and a much lower K rate. That's quite a turnaround.

Justin Jirschele just keeps hitting, and seems impossible to strike out. Sort of fun to watch for an NDFA, and not a super-old one at 22 years old.

Zach Stewart actually pitched pretty well against Charlotte, from what I heard.

Still has that velocity issue, although Jake's convinced he's okay at 88-91 MPH as a starter (if he can get the sinking/pitchfx movement).

Mitchell with another o-fer, although he did have 2 walks and 2 runs scored. Down to .255 now.

Kinda cool to see a 17 year old at Bristol - Jose Barraza, C.

Also...Euclides Leyer, 19 yr old pitcher from the DR. 24Ks in 16 IPs. Not bad!

Aaaannd...Bryce Mosier, C at Great Falls is having quite the game tonight. Good for him.

Salvador Sanchez up in W-S now. Any word on his stuff? I know when he was an OF his arm in RF was said to be pretty good

I noticed that, they are moving him up in a hurry - Bristol, Kanny, now W-S already. No idea on stuff, but would love to know.
