IMO, their pitching went to crap as did their defense. The contracts they gave Morneau and Mauer cost them any shot at retaining guys like Kubel and Cuddyer. Plus Morneau got hurt and hasn't been the same and Mauer is a slight upgrade in the power department from Juan Pierre. Their ballpark is very nice, but hitters aren't going to want to play there.
