13 deserves to be retired before 12, and that's not even taking into account the managing portion of the career.

Also true.

Wait a second...Are you guys talking about Ozzie? I don't get the bold part.

Being 25 I don't remember ever watching him play in a Sox uni but looking at his stats I still don't understand why his number would be retired because of his playing career. Because of his defense?

Even if he were the greatest defender in the history of baseball I couldn't see retiring his number.

if ozzie didn't s*** on and then burn his bridges on the way out of the sox, i could see him getting his number retired/statue(those things pretty much come together now).

but i suspect as long as kenny's here, that wont happen.

as for aj, he's borderline # retirement. i think buehrle and bonerko will get their statues sooner than later.

love one of the retarded WSI posts about the AJ ad:

Nice gesture by AJ but he never became a real Chicagoan because he used the term chi-town.

i don't think he ever considered himself a "true chicagoan" as he lives where he grew up still, AND really? you dont get the fact that "chi-town" is in quotation marks? he's doing it on purpose, you f***ing idiot! same way when he said "my kinda town".....

sometimes i wonder where they get their posters. there's 1 page in that appreciation thread about grammar. f***ing clownshoes over there....

Time will fix those bridges. Ozzie will get his due in Chicago eventually. He could have been Ditka if he had the cajones to keep his kids in line.

He won a World Series as a manager, plus another division title. How many other White Sox can say that?

I said I didn't understand the bold part of the statement. I understand it from a coaching aspect but his playing career looks like someone the board would be calling for his DFA.

You have lost your mind.

Alexei Ramirez has had a better white sox playing career than ozzie guillen.

I was just clarifying what the earlier post said. It's hard to compare the two since Ozzie was a defensive specialist while AJ was all about the offense.

Ozzie Smith is in the Hall of Fame. Have you ever looked at his career numbers? He could steal and draw a walk - and that's about it.

There were a few years where Ozzie Guillen was actually a borderline star in the league based upon his WAR. He was an incredibly gifted defensive shortstop. He also made a lot of contact and generally had great control of the bat.

If Alexei Ramirez puts up another year like he did last year, he'll be well on the Ozzie Guillen path.

The dude was obviously being sarcastic. It's called a joke. Relax.

That was a nice gesture by AJ, but he's still a giant asshole.
