Bristol playing. Toby Thomas homer. Hopefully, he's a diamond in the rough.

Somebody on Twitter is saying Sox scouts are watching the Portland Seadogs game today. Ranaudo on the mound.

Toby Thomas is raking, batting .405 in his last 10 gams, .353 overall.

Entering today, Micah has a 1.1 BB% in A+ compared to 11% in A-

Yeah, his numbers are notably down in High-A. He's not walking (though he did walk today) and he's not hitting for much power (though he has 4 XBH in his last 6 games).

He did homer, but that won't count until that game is finished after it was suspended.

2-3, 2 doubles for Semien

Semien is hitting himself to a promotion. .309/.460/.603/1.063 splits for July. Also, 19 walks and 8 strikeouts for July?!?

Are we sure he's a White Sox prospect??

But, everybody rates Hawkins waaay above Semien. I don't get it. If Hawkins had those numbers.......

Give it a little while. It's going to be hard to rate Hawkins at all if he doesn't improve soon.

I would also like to point out Semien is the type of guy who improves a lot every season. This guy wasn't even on the radar two years ago. His improvement in plate discipline and pitch recognition this season is pretty much incredible.

However, he still hasn't hit over .280 in a season yet, and it probably won't translate into anything more than a .250 hitter in the majors. He's still 22, so I wouldn't rush him to the majors just yet. I would let him stay in the minors for another half a year or so, and hope he can improve his hitting next year. If he's still raking like this next season, I would call him up around June or July.
