cabiness42 0 Posted November 5, 2014 Gold Gloves being announced. Live updates here... http://m.mlb.com/news/article/100537486/go...nners-announced So f***ing tired of Jeter winning, he's such an awful fielder. Sorry, habit.
flavum 1,455 Posted November 5, 2014 Lorenzo Cain not being a GG Finalist seems funny after this October. Adam Jones and JJ Hardy beat out Eaton and Alexei.
flavum 1,455 Posted November 12, 2014 Showalter and Williams take home the Manager of the Year hardware. Cy tomorrow...I'll say Felix wins because of the better ERA and his past. Felix- 22 first place, 8 second place Kluber- 8 first place, 22 second place Sale- 30 third place
flavum 1,455 Posted November 12, 2014 I kinda liked this... Joe Stanka left the US after his cup of coffee with the Sox in 1959, and had a lot of success in Japan.
flavum 1,455 Posted November 12, 2014 Seems like a lot of people are saying they'd vote for Kluber, but they think Felix will win. Maybe Kluber will surprise.

Dick Allen 5,363 Posted November 13, 2014 The AL Rookie of the Year was the only player to take both Cy Young award winners deep in 2014.
chw42 4,054 Posted November 13, 2014 Very surprised Kluber won, considering Felix had a lower ERA. Kluber actually led all of baseball in fWAR. Awesome to see him win it.
LittleHurt05 324 Posted November 13, 2014 I keep going back and forth between Kluber's and Felix's stats, and they are both deserving, would have been fair if either guy won.
chw42 4,054 Posted November 13, 2014 QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 06:49 PM) I keep going back and forth between Kluber's and Felix's stats, and they are both deserving, would have been fair if either guy won. I wouldn't have complained either way. I think Kluber gets a bit of an edge because Felix pitched in such a pitcher-friendly park, which helps alleviate the difference in ERA a bit. shysocks 0 Posted November 13, 2014 QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 12, 2014 -> 06:52 PM) I wouldn't have complained either way. I think Kluber gets a bit of an edge because Felix pitched in such a pitcher-friendly park, which helps alleviate the difference in ERA a bit. I think the fact of the Indians' terrible defense caught on a little bit as well. That Kluber was able to put up the numbers he did in front of such a bad group may have swayed some people. flavum 1,455 Posted November 13, 2014 Does Abreu crack the top-5 tonight?
flavum 1,455 Posted November 13, 2014 I'll put in a guess...Abreu finishes just outside the top 5. 6th or 7th.

flavum 1,455 Posted November 13, 2014 Susan Slusser left Abreu off her top 10. So did Mike Berardino from St Paul, and Mark Whicker from LA. A writer from Houston left Victor Martinez off his top 10.

Balta1701 5,028 Posted November 14, 2014 QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 13, 2014 -> 06:58 PM) Susan Slusser left Abreu off her top 10. So did Mike Berardino from St Paul, and Mark Whicker from LA. A writer from Houston left Victor Martinez off his top 10. If all I did was follow fWAR, Abreu was 12th, VMart was 18th in the AL last year.
chw42 4,054 Posted November 14, 2014 Had Stanton not gotten hurt, I think it would have been a lot closer. But Kershaw did have a historic season and I think it was well deserved.
