  1. QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 09:08 PM) Maybe if we built something from within that had a chance to be sustainable, people would be more excited/optimistic. That's what happened in the 90s. And how was an important portion of that built? By averaging 72 wins from '86-89. Those records also turned into McDowell, Ventura, Thomas, & Fernandez.
  2. The Yankees run totals in 3 innings matched the Sox run total the last 6 games. Ugh, my head hurts.
  3. Tribe scratched Alex White & Drew Pomeranz from their starts. Now, MLBTR is reporting the deal is done, & Ubaldo's going to Cleveland for White, Pomeranz & another player (may or may not be Kipnis) . Quite a haul for Colorado.
  4. Edwin Rodriguez resigns ESPN.com news services Marlins manager Edwin Rodriguez has resigned with the team mired in a nine-game losing streak. Rodriguez Marlins bench coach Brandon Hyde will replace Rodriguez for Sunday's game against the Rays, the team said in a news release. The Marlins were 1-17 in June entering the game at Tampa Bay and sat last in the NL East at 32-39, 12½ games behind the Phillies. Rodriguez became the first Puerto Rican manager in the major leagues when the Marlins made him interim manager last June, and the team went 46-46 the rest of the year. He then spent a month after the regular season in limbo before being named to the permanent job. The Marlins said then they had discussed several managerial candidates but they conducted no formal interviews. Rodriguez received only a one-year contract, but said at the time he figured he still got a good deal. "I'm very confident that our team, even though it's a very young team, we're going to be winning a lot of games," he said. Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
  5. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 02:55 PM) BTW, when was the last time a hitting/pitching coach or manager was fired by the Sox mid-season? Since I've been a fan, I can't remember. Gary Ward in 2003. Replaced by Walker.
  6. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 12:44 AM) Suck it, haters! And your point? Like Mauer's ever done anything in the big leagues.
  7. Edwin Jackson in line to start 2nd game Found this part interesting: I know it may not be definite, but I thought Danks might actually get the nod this year. But Buehrle getting it works too.
  8. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 28, 2011 -> 07:15 PM) Member of the South Side Hitmen, (if memory serves me right)... Jerry Dybzynski Game 4. '83 ALCS. 6th inning. Angry. Scott Radinsky

  11. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Aug 11, 2010 -> 10:30 PM) Keep an eye on Addison Reed down there. 2 BB, 21 K's in 14 IP. Yeah, I'd say you're right.
  12. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 07:04 PM) Gilmore is 1/2. AVG to .338. P good. Also committed his 30th error tonight. Ouch.
