Assuming a Royals loss in the suspended game:

A's 84-70

Mariners 83-71

Royals 83-71

Remaining schedules:

A's-

1 vs Phillies, 3 vs Angels, 4 at Rangers

Mariners-

1 at Astros, 4 at Blue Jays, 3 vs Angels

Royals-

1 vs Tigers, 3 at Indians, 4 at White Sox

I hope they all end at 88-74. More baseball.

I think oak is the perfect glue guy if u add that one dh threat.

Gordon and butler are really struggling down the stretch....reminiscent of the sox against det and kc in sept 2012.

Should easily be 7-2 or 7-1 and moustakas made a completely boneheaded error his fifth on the home stand.

Iwakuma has really run out of gas for sea in the last month....so has zunino.

Donaldson walk off homer.

A's 85-70

Royals 84-71 (unless they score 2 in the 10th tomorrow, and then win)

Mariners 83-72

AL Central-

Tigers have a 2 game lead on the Royals with 7 left.

fwiw, the Royals miss Kluber (pitched Sun) and get Duffy back, so that's two big positives for them.

We'll see if today's win was enough to stanch the bleeding. The White Sox had a similar huge nail-biting Addison Reed saved win to take 1 of 3 roughly two years ago and then everything pretty much came unglued.

Tigers with four and one-half former closers in Johnson, Chamberlain, Soria, Coke and Nathan, yet can't figure out how to use Soria correctly (which means in the 8th instead of Joba). I still can't understand why AL AL can't put it all together with his stuff, either.

Assuming they don't blow the 10th inning lead, Cleveland is at 82-74, only 2.5 back of KC. A 3-game sweep and they will pass them.

Yeah, you never know. The Indians have 3 more at home after that against the Rays. Run the table for 88-74, and they're probably still playing.

Royals win. Mariners lose, on life support.

A's down 1-0, 1st

AL Central-

Tigers 86-70

Royals 85-71

I'd laugh if the AL Wildcard Game is A's-Tigers, and the Tigers lost.

I'm sick of the Tigers' domination of the Central. I'd love it if somehow they lost the wildcard game, as well. Something tells me they are built for the playoffs, however and this is finally their year to win it all.

Hopefully they'll get it out of their system and the dynasty will be over.

CJ Wilson can't throw a strike. Walked in two A's so far.

He was excellent in his last start, fwiw. Just very inconsistent/disappointing this season.

If they had Richards, they would clearly be the best team in baseball. As things stand now, all the teams entering the playoffs wouldn't shock anyone if they won, other than maybe the Royals. Even the Pirates have a good chance if they can get Cole, Liriano and Volquez pitching to the best of their ability.

I disagree somewhat, to me this seems like the shakiest they've looked heading into October in a while. Scherzer is great. Price has been great all year but is looking hittable and has sailed past his career high in innings. Verlander is obviously not the same guy. If they plan on using Anibal out of the bullpen in the playoffs, that is a weapon, but otherwise the pen is the same mess it always has been.

Maybe this is wishful thinking, because I'm sick of them too.

Verlander has actually pitched pretty well the last 2-3 times out (and has been able to get his FB back in the mid 90's when he needs it, unlike earlier in the year)...I'd be more concerned about Porcello and Price if I was a Tigers' fan at the moment, along with Ausmus' reluctance to move Joba Chamberlain out of the 8th inning in favor of Joakim Soria/AL AL.

Sanchez is going to be very rusty...but if he's healthy, you have to give him a role in the playoffs.

1) Scherzer

2) Verlander

3) Price

4) Porcello

Based on how they've pitched the last 2-3 weeks. Over the whole season, you would probably make the argument Price has been the better pitcher. Today's a really key outing for him to get back in track, unusual to see his ERA climb into the 4's.

Six weeks ago, it would have been Sanchez and Porcello with Verlander looking like banishment to the bullpen would be his fate...and deservedly so.

Sox have a good chance to play spoiler down the stretch. Tigers will crush the sox tonight so the Royals have to be on their A-game.

That's what the Tigers thought last night with Bassitt on the hill, an inexperienced rookie with a 5+ ERA and still looking for his first win as a starter.

There's a LOT more pressure on Felix Hernandez to stop the bleeding for the Mariners.

I think winning the final game against the Tigers, almost coming back to tie CLE and then essentially knocking them out of the post-season discussion has helped the Royals to relax a little bit and breathe easier...they're only one game behind the Tigers, and the Royals also feel very confident about matching up with the White Sox.

And isn't Sale going to pitch against DET and miss KC?

The royals should have lost 2 games to the Sox last week.

They are not that great. Still suspect on defense, bullpen could be better and they are not good at fundamentals. These things do get exposed deeper into the playoffs.

I'm worried because they have great starting pitching that could carry them to the WS again.

That's like saying the CLE Indians SHOULD have won the 2005 Joe Crede walkoff game and made the playoffs instead of collapsing in the final week after fighting so hard for six weeks to catch up.

My point was that if the Royals think the Sox are going to lay down, they are mistaken.
