Arlington would be a disaster. The Suburb Sox would ideally need to be in/around Oak Brook, accessible to 294, 290, 88, 55, & 355.
Arlington will be fine for the Bears, with their STHs concentrated in the NW suburbs and fewer games.
What makes Lincoln Yards a better location? It's further from downtown and has poor transit accessibility (I spent 2 years living right off the Armitage stop, it's not exactly down the street).
Again, they were not selected for 2 major projects. That was largely out of their control.
Painting it as a "failure" to try to force your objective is comical.
They were part of the Amazon HQ bid, then bid on the casino. There was also a pandemic in the middle of all that.
I'd say they have pretty good reasons to not have started anything, but go on with your s%*# logic.
I'd be shocked if it's that low. That's 12,345 per game, which would be a 42% decrease.
Usually the worst games at least draw about that, just off STHs alone. When you factor in giveaway dates that will still draw, they probably average 18k at a bare minimum.
How is that what you took from the piece?
Nashville will get a team eventually. It won't be the White Sox. Their value & annual revenue would immediately drop if they left Chicago.
No one is buying a team with a top 15 valuation to move them. You would need such a significant discount (A's level value) for that to make any sense.
