  1. Congrats to the Big Hurt. The 500 HR Club welcomes you. It's a shame cheaters like Bonds, Sosa, McGwire and Palmiero tainted your accomplishment. But Sox fans today are smiling with pride knowing your 500 HR's are clean. Unlike the ass clown RF'er the north siders used to worship for years. Also the fan who caught The Big Hurt's milestone HR gave the ball back to Frank. Class move for a class act. See you in Cooperstown Frank!
  2. My problem with Jay Mariotti is that he would skewer the Sox in his columns and for years he left the Cubs virtually alone?? He painted such a negative stereotype of the Sox organization and their fans after the White Flag deal in 1997, that people would look at me funny when I told them I was a Sox fan! That guy did more to hurt Jerry Reinsdorf in the pocket book than any other poison pen columnist that I know, and he seemed to revel in it. That's why I thoroughly enjoyed it when Hawk Harrelson and Ozzie Guillen stood up for their organization and called Mariotti out for his yellow journalism. If Jay Mariotti got pushed under a bus on his way to work tomorrow I definitely wouldn't shed a tear, that's for sure. I wish he'd go back to Pittsburgh.
  3. Hey Fox! You mean Victor Martinez is still the Player of the Game?? Whatever! Rob Mackowiak was safe on the play at the plate on Ozuna's hit in the 11th. Iguchi made it a moot point by singling in Pablo. Take that Fox! Hand out your player of the game before we have a chance to hit in our half of the bonus panels.
  4. When Brian Anderson caught Hafner's drive in the 8th I yelled at the top of my lungs, "I'd like to see Mackowiak catch that ball!!" Anderson kept 2 runs off the board, and the score would've been 6-3 heading in to the bottom of the 8th. I told Mrs Wsox that Anderson just gave the Sox a HUGE lift by holding the score right there and now the Sox had a chance to win the game. Great rally by the Sox, Thome showing great patience walking, Konerko keeping the line moving by doubling down the LF line and of course Jermaine Dye who is just having a freaking awesome start to the season. Great AB by JD and a good job by Baaad Bobby Jenks nailing down the victory.
  5. 11-0 Smackdown of the Tribe, I love it! Javy looked mighty sharp today, and he even had to labor a bit more than he should've had to in the 5th inning. Vasquez froze Merloni on a pretty 2-2 curveball on a pitch should've ended the 5th inning. Instead Home Plate Umpire Ed Rapuano blew it and called it a ball. Merloni ended up walking and Grady Sizemore ended up lining out to Dye in RF on a 6 pitch AB. The only play I didn't like was the Joey Cora sending home Konerko in the 1st on a hard hit ball by Crede to LF. Kong was gonna be out by 20 feet. C'mon Joey WTF!!! Here's a rule of thumb for ya. If it's Konerko or A.J. running, probably a good idea if you don't send them if you think it's going to be a close play. There IS a difference between being agressive and being smart. Even though it worked out for the Sox on this occasion, IT WAS STILL A DUMB FREAKING PLAY on Cora's part. Tomorrow's pitching match up promises to be a good one. Sabathia vs Buehrle. Set the VCR's and TiVO's for this one.
  6. http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/gamecenter/p...0060520_CHC@CHW there were a lot of good photos of the brawl here at cbs sportsline
  7. I just saw the replay of it on ESPN. Gutsy play by Aaron, and it was plays like that that made Rowand such a fan favorite. All out hustle, and showing no fear of the wall. Win or die trying!! P.S. Nice catch A-Row....heal fast, & get well soon.
  8. Great job White Sox!! Good to see the Bullpen come through this time, now bring on the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Orange County CA 92806 etc..... If AJ gets hit in this upcoming series there will be Hell to pay!!
  9. My 25 are in. I voted for: American League First Base: Konerko, P., CWS Second Base: Iguchi, T., CWS Third Base: Crede, J., CWS Shortstop: Young, M., TEX Catcher: Pierzynski, A.J., CWS Outfielder: Crisp, C., BOS Outfielder: Ramirez, M., BOS Outfielder: Suzuki, I., SEA National League First Base: Fielder, P., MIL Second Base: Biggio, C., HOU Third Base: Atkins, G., COL Shortstop: Eckstein, D., STL Catcher: Piazza, M., SD Outfielder: Hawpe, B., COL Outfielder: Lee, C., MIL Outfielder: Rowand, A., PHI
  10. Probably the most annoying thing was on Friday night when some bandwaggoner threw back Lew Ford's HR!!! I yelled out "Go back to Wrigley Yuppie Scum!!" much to the delight of the people around me.
  11. I'll be going to the game tonight and I'll be hoping for a better performance (from Sox hitters.....not Johan) than the last time I saw Santana face the Sox. Yikes he was dominating! http://chicago.comcastsportsnet.com/view_c...0p.asp?ID=13874
  12. I always thought a giant sized Nellie Fox Hartland Statue deserved to be out in front of the ballpark.
  13. When I brought in my World Series replica ring to work I told my annoying Cub fan co workers that it also doubles as a mood ring. When I'm in a good mood, it retains its' gold color. When I'm in a bad mood, it leaves a big 'effin red mark etched in the middle of your forehead!!
  14. The defense looked really sharp today, especially Joe Crede (is that guy Brooks Robinson and Craig Nettles all rolled in to one?) I feel the Sox got a couple breaks today on defense. Tony Graffanino's single in the 6th where he tried stretching it in to a double and he was called out. He sure looked SAFE to me on the play. And the second time when Grudzielanek grounded into a FC and Uribe narrowly nipped Graffanino at 2B on a bang bang play on a slowly hit ball. That call could've gone either way. Anyhow, I'll take the long awaited "W" . Man it was a rough week waiting for the 2nd win to come along. Like a previous poster said, the Sox were just two clutch hits away from being 4-2 instead of 2-4. On to Det. Tough game tomorrow, facing Jeremy Bonderman. Should be a really close game tomorrow in Motown.
  15. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 02:56 AM) A joint PWN3ING. How long until Kotex Boy's Rebuttal I wonder. I can still remember that douchebag Moronotti saying that "Chicago stops 5 minutes a day when Sosa comes to the plate" When I read that idiotic statement of praise and worship Moronotti heaped upon the fraudulent slugger, I said "Yeah, only to curse him out though!" Effin Cheater and Fraud. You could fit all the intelligent statements Kotex Boy has ever made regarding baseball on the back of a postage stamp!
