Sold my house on monday, technically homeless right now I guess? But my bank account looks really, really nice for the next two weeks.

Freedom!!!!

Seriously though, walk away and rent forever while you have the chance, some of us can only dream.

So. My brother was on his way out of the house when he was met by, I s*** you not, a topless female.... A little backstory, I do live down the street from State Line and there are indeed prostitutes out there..... Lady says she was kicked out of her house and asked my brother for a shirt and his phone to call the cops. He gives her his phone and comes inside for a shirt. When we go back out(Yes we because I thought he was lying)my neighbor across the street has a gun out and is yelling at this girl and said his wife was calling the cops. He got his phone back and the lady called someone other than the cops. She ran after giving the phone back.....Had to of been a prostitute that got kicked out of a car in front of my house OR quite possibly was at the neighbors house who had his gun out and wifey came home while he was having her over. I've never seen her before so I don't think she lived anywhere close to have actually gotten kicked out and walked to my driveway topless.

This was right up there with the time the cops pulled a bloody naked guy out of my neighbors RV

Downtown Hammond is just bizzare.

Unless the neighbor and I have come to a previous agreement about this, a neighbor better be very careful about pulling a gun on anybody on my property, regardless of the circumstances.

I've been working with the Hilary Clinton campaign in Iowa this past couple weeks, did some independent work during the Town Hall Meeting on Monday in Des Moines. It's totally refreshing to get a look at the candidates when their guards are down.

Martin O'Malley is quite the ladies man and is surprisingly funny. Bernie Sanders will give anyone the time of day and Hillary in my very limited encounter leaves quite the impression.

The legendary Planet X, now being called Planet 9, might have been mathematically found.

You will find a job. As well as you explain things to make it easy for anyone to understand is a pretty special gift. I am not even trying to blow smoke up your ass either. You have a gift that not many have.

Not sure if anyone here is a board gamer, but I found a copy of Robinson Crusoe this weekend and played a few games. Really, really fun co-op/survival game. Highly recommended.

I've got a wall full of about 70. I have Robinson Crusoe but it hasn't made it to the table yet. Currently playing Pandemic Legacy with the family.

question:

My stepmom's father is moving to hospice care, I'm looking to send some package or something nice to the house.

Are flowers applicable here? Any advice appreciated. Wife is in London and want to get something over.

Not sure what exactly happened. I called and set up internet at my new house last Tuesday with the "self-install" option because I already had my own modem and the previous owners had Comcast. Plugged the modem in, called to set up the account, had it all activated in about 10 minutes. Worked great for a week. Then about midday yesterday, I got a voicemail from Comcast saying my service ticket was being cancelled because I had selected the self-install option so no service was needed. Weird, I hadn't made any service calls, so I just ignored it. I got home and of course the internet doesn't work, it just kicks me to the auto activation page.

That doesn't work, so I call and get transferred to their moving services line. The lady there was nice and helpful, but some of her remarks included "huh, I've never seen that before" and "I don't know why they would deactivate an account like this, hold on while I contact our internal help desk [five minutes of hold]." She supposedly got it all straightened out and then transferred me to account activation to get my modem registered. This guy was completely useless and after trying to to activate twice, told me I needed to go to my local Comcast office. Which, of course, is like 25 minutes away and only open 9-5 during weekdays. No idea what that office is going to be able to do that they couldn't do over the phone/remotely, and of course I'll have no way of verifying that everything's functional when I leave that office.

Google fiber can't come fast enough.

edit: I hate getting mad at CSRs because I know how s***ty of a job that can be (please don't yell at Southwest phone people, you may be yelling at my mom!) and really, it's not their fault that Comcast is such a pile of garbage company with underpaid and usually incompetent technicians.

Any decent non Comcast options for Internet? Man did they piss me off tonight.

I had been having stability problems for a while. I finally called and actually had a great experience. They sent someone out and it turned out squirrels had been chewing on the power lines. I am now pulling 125 mb download speed.
