  1. Well said. Gordon Beckham mentioned on the CWS talk podcast awhile back that Getz indirectly ackowledged that Hahn/KW held onto their 'core' players too long. Getz told Beckham that he wants to be able to maximize on a players return values earlier rather than waiting. The tricky part is all of these damn injuries for these broken/expensive players. It's hard to unload bad contracts to guys made of glass. The key to fixing this thing is from the bottom up. The farm system needs to acquire multiple blue chippers and perhaps finally learn how to scout and develop their own homegrown talent. Something that the Sox just never do. Another immediate fix would be for Jerry to sell, but since he would be too bored in his final years, Sox fans will be hanging out in pergatory until his final days arrive.
  2. Pedro Grifol's managerial skills are beginning to make Terry Bevington look like Bruce Bochy and Robin Ventura look like Bobby Cox. It's a sad day when I would rather have one of Bevington or Ventura back on the bench over the guy currently there. 😒
  3. Even if the White Sox lose 120 games, if Jerry nets some sort of profit for him and his investors, he will consider it a successful season. He could care less about White Sox fans or winning. This franchise desperately needs new ownership. Once the Cubs got Ricketts, I knew they were going to be 10x better for it. We need someone as committed as Ricketts. Not an absentee landlord who refuses to sell the franchise because it's his hobby. If this is his hobby, he is pretty horrible at it.
  4. Let’s not forget Pedro was the manager of last years circus đŸŽȘ He was the man in charge of that locker room of dysfunction. Because Jerry wanted to save a few pennies, he gets to stay in charge this season? WOW. That’s dogcrap. Getz has already saved Jerry millions with his roster destruction. Fire his ass and let’s move forward.
  5. He wasn't complaining about his salary or treatment from the Sox. He was simply stating that the Sox had many excuses to not add onto the roster during its peak competitive window (Very small window, I may add). Ryan McGuffey has done an excellent job voicing this same frusteration on the White Sox talk podcast. Jerry simply refused to pay market value for free agent superstars that would've likely increased the chances multiple playoff series wins. Sad. That was his golden opportunity to correct the narrative of him being "cheap". Sadly, it was Jerry's choice to stand pat with the players he had. Jerry will never ever sign a blue chip free agent. The last one he did sign was Albert Belle and that was almost 30 years ago.
  6. What are the odds this tremendous organization lands that 11th pick in the 2025 mlb draft?
  7. SD Top Prospects I definitely want 2 of these top 5 dudes. Getz was demanding a blue chipper.
  8. I think it’s safe to say that Jerry won’t be the one giving out any more competitive offers for the White Sox. It will be the next majority owner. Jerry is still probably sick to his stomach that the Sox paid Andrew Benintendi $75 million. The dude hates spending big $$ and will never match the going rate for premium A level free agents. And since the last 2 starting pitchers he gave above average contracts to ended up failing (Danks and Keuchel), Jerry won’t ever spend big $$ on starting pitching again. I’m still shocked they offered Zack Wheeler a larger contract than Philly. Jerry must of had his favorite glass of red wine that day. He also was probably thrilled that Wheeler declined. Just like he was also thrilled when Machado declined that ridiculous incentivized loaded contract. Modern baseball economics completely surpassed Jerry’s expectations and ways of handling an organization. It’s time for a new ownership group.
  9. Are you saying Pedro Grifol is at the same level of Terry Francona? Listen, I get it— this roster is 75% trash. And no matter who the manager is— they will still be 75% trash. But Pedro proved that he was in over his head last season and also struggled getting through to not only the veterans but the young players as well. You top that off with his unusual arrogance-it doesn’t bode well for him. The mix of veterans and young players responded great to Renteria from 2018-2020. Last season was a clown show— it was managed by the guy leading the 2024 season. So before other young guys like Montgomery and Ramos come up, yes- I would like a new voice in the dugout leading the show. I also want a new owner running this franchise, but that’s a whole other topic.
  10. I hope Pedro gets fired FAST in 2024. But something tells me Getz doesn’t have the courage to fire one of his KC besties. Even if he goes 10-30 to start the season, Getz still will likely keep him around. Those KC veins run deep!
  11. There are too many variables to count. If Jerry is priortizing the stadium right now, he will likely keep payroll low these next 3-4 seasons. Lets face it, the state will likely not grant his wish of maximum public funding. If anything- Jerry will likely have to fit the bill for a minimum of 1/3rd or 1/4th of the stadium development project. (Still a massive bargain for him!) This will definitley force Getz to get creative with his roster construction. The priority for Getz should be to deal guys like Cease, Moncada and Eloy at the deadline this season to restock the slightly improving farm system. If he can acquire quality returns at the deadline, this ship can start to turn in the right direction by 2025 without having to spend the mega bucks that Jerry will never do. One thing Chris can do next offseason is hire a well established MLB manager who has a track record of maximizing the potential of young talent. Pedro Grifol doesn't really seem to know much about baseball from the looks of things.
  12. These renderings are phenomenal. I’m assuming there will be a bunch more modifications and mock ups along the way, but what a wonderful start to actually promote the vision of this thing. I actually deleted my Twitter app. It was becoming too negative. I rely on you guys to bring me White Sox up to date content now. 👍
  13. I think Jerry will pass away before any sale takes place. When he passes, his children will likely be responsible for the organizational sale. The new stadium will definitley make the White Sox more attractive for buyers... should be very interesting who the new ownership group will be. Whoever it is, I hope they don't follow the current motto of "THy Shall Never Pay a Single Player $100 million" I mean why pay a superstar when you can spread the $$ around to a bunch of subplar players? đŸ€Ą
  14. Sounds like Ortiz is one of the better defensive 2B in the minors. Would love a package centered around Mayo and Ortiz.
  15. How serious is the myocarditis issue with Heston Kjerstad? Something tells me the O’s will likely attempt to center a package around him in any offer for Cease.
