Our bullpen was a disaster all year last year. It's been lockdown with Duke and Roberts at 8 and 9 (in a small sample, albeit). I remember we blew many games in the late innings last year, especially early on. Huge difference when you can hand off a lead to your bullpen and count on them to lock it down. Considering money is no object, it is surprising the Yankees let him go, even with some of the talent they have in the bullpen for the late innings. He is used to pitching in a bandbox. Robertson is legit and for some reason the Sox have been unable to find any bullpen arms out of their minor leagues for the past few seasons, so they had to pay up. Yeah, the Sox don't usual do this, but in this case, they needed some back end bullpen help badly if they had a chance at doing anything this year. Last year the starters had to pitch 9 inning games.
