Prospect Interviews

Last season we did a LOT of prospect interviews, 25 players in all (more than half in person, the rest via phone). We've only done a couple this year. So, who would you like to hear from? Below is a list of all the players we have already interviewed in the past year or two (not in any real order). We'd rather get someone new, so, NOT someone on this list...

Tim Anderson

Micah Johnson (twice)

Courtney Hawkins

Trey Michalczewski

Tyler Danish

Erik Johnson

Jacob May

Marcus Semien

Josh Phegley

Keon Barnum

Kevan Smith

Joey DeMichele (twice)

Myles Jaye

Jason Coats

Mike Recchia

Brad Goldberg

Thad Lowry

Chris Bassitt

Dan Black

James Dykstra

Adam Lopez

Jake Cose

Chris Curley

Sammy Ayala (gone)

Mark Haddow (gone)

Stew Brase (gone)

Scott Carroll* (was actually a piece he wrote himself, now in MLB)

---

Dan Fabian (Sox Baseball Ops)

Brian Boesch (W-S Dash Announcer)

Mike Gellinger (manager, AZL White Sox)

Tommy Thompson (manager, Winston-Salem Dash)

Ryan Newman (was manager of Dash, now a coach with Charlotte)

Buddy Bell (Director of Player Development)

So who NOT on that list appeals? Keep in mind that the guys in AZL might be tough gets, so it is more likely we can get guys in Great Falls or a full season league. But we are certainly willing to TRY for AZL guys.

Some of the 2014 picks could be interesting. Rodon might be tough, but he would be the most interesting. The dude hasn't really said much of anything.

The Dash have been sending out information specifically saying Rodon is currently NOT available to the media. They're keeping him under tight wraps. I really doubt I can pull that off, though I'm willing to try.

Weird. I wonder what is up with the guy. There has been zero talk from this guy.

It would also be interesting to hear from a guy like Adams. Jake Peter is off to a great start and might be a good target.

I'd also still be interested in hearing from Micker Adolofo.

I asked about talking to any of the guys who had been in the DSL last year when they were in rookie ball and was told they probably weren't ready on the language side. Just guessing that'd be the case here also.

I thought Micker has English language skills?

Correct, he is English-fluent. He's a possibility.

Rangel Ravelo would be interesting to me.

In his case, at least at one time, I was told his English wasn't very strong despite growing up in the States. That may have changed though, and I'd love to talk with him. Definitely a possibility.

the player I bolded would be great,

Anderson on how he has improved this yr with the knowledge he is getting closer to the majors.

erik Johnson to give us his take on what happen this yr, also with the knowledge that sox army of fans

hasn't lost hope for him

any of the managers bold will be a great interview on how, with the influx of new blood, the overall system

is getting better. is there any hidden prospect that surprise the crap out of them on how good they are?

also I know about no interview with Rodon

I second Rangel Ravelo

This guy. And ask him if he thinks the org appreciates his high OBP and approach. And if he thinks he can play other positions.

Matt Davidson- how he has overcome his struggles from the beginning of the season and through the thumb injury.

JB Wendelken- hows the adjustment coming to a new organization and how he has adjusted through the year.

Not to be negative, but what has he overcome?
