Avi Needs to Go

This topic has been beat to death ya, but he has continued to not show a thing. This team needs to try something else starting tomorrow. He has no approach, his confidence is gone, he provides no value to this team whatsoever...what is he doing here? I don't care where the change comes from, but they can't keep throwing these ABs away and hope to contend. The kid can't play.

When you go back and look at his minor league career, it really wasn't that great either. Modest OPS totals. He needs to go down.

Just another massive scouting blunder. Funnier aspect is they thought he could play CF

He should have been seeing 80% or more of his ABs against LHP. Instead it's the other way around. Why the f*** they didn't bring in platoon option, any platoon option, is beyond me. He's bad and he's not going to get better anytime soon. Probably is time to give him another two weeks and if he is still hitting like s*** you send him to AAA and tell him to hit his way back to the big leagues.

I think a few AAA bus rides might light a fire under his ass mentally. He's obviously a hard worker but mentally I'm not sure he's MLB material. If he can not sulk and actually put in the effort in AAA maybe he can have MLB future again.

To think the Red Sox offered Iglesias and we said no.

You have two evaluation errors there, perhaps three (remains to be seen)...

One, on Avi Garcia.

Two, on the fact that they weren't ready to let go of Alexei Ramirez (until it was too late and they'd already missed the chance to get Iglesias. Plus they got nothing in return for him.)

Three, the assumption Anderson would play that position in the future.

Looking back, it's always those little things. Granted, the Tigers have a payroll nearly $80 million higher than the White Sox, but if you put JD Martinez (released), Salty and Iglesias on the White Sox, you likely have a first place team that can compete with almost anyone.

My midyear pie-in-the-sky scenario

Quentin and Morneau DH platoon. If you need 12 pitchers you can still get by if you promote Leury Garcia, who has OF/IF capability. Saladino and him can backup all spots on the diamond besides catching.

Carlos Quentin couldn't even make the Twins.

What year is it? 2008?
