Some reports that Rose is looking like his "old" self. I think he's going to take a big step forward. Not necessarily MVP Rose, but I think we are going to see All Star Rose this year. Of course I'm the resident Bulls homer.

If he can't get to the hoop and settles only for threes, it's going to be a long year. Rose shooting threes is like trying to ford a river in a Cadillac.

Good post. I think this is pretty spot on. Despite my continuing frustration regarding the Bulls' place in the NBA right now, I think Hoiberg improves the team in the short run. At first glance, it would appear that the team would get worse defensively, however their personnel are becoming increasingly offense-based. This teams offense was improved last year with a Thibodeau offense. I expect big things under Hoiberg's offense.

Spurs beat Cavs 4-2 in finals

The west is just insane. Those top 5 teams would all be my favorite to come out of the east.

Why do you have the Grizzlies getting so much worse? Also, Utah came on pretty strong late last year, but I guess they lost Exum. I can't see them only winning only 30 games though.

Everything else looks pretty good though.

I'll give you Warriors/Spurs. The other three is just you LeBron hating. The Cavs were the best team in the league from February until the Love and later on the Kyrie injury. They've got the same team with even more depth now (I'll assume TT signs at some point).

Grizzlies have an aging core and made no big additions in the offseason, while most Western contenders did make good moves. I could see them slip into the 6 seed, though. Yeah, Utah isn't that bad, but without Exum and in an even more dangerous West, I can't see them winning more than 36-37 games. I originally had them at 33-49, but had to bump them down to 30 because I had too many wins in my standings.

Grizzlies will continue to finish top 5

I can see them at 6. Don't get me wrong, they're good, but which of the 5 will they replace?

GSW? Nope.

SA? Doubt it.

LAC? Possibly.

HOU? Doubt it.

OKC? Possibly.

I think that with a healthy OKC and an improved Clippers team, the Grizzlies won't be top-five

The Clippers had statistically the best starting 5 last year. The problem was they had no depth. They added Lance, Pierce, and Josh Smith.

The Rockets made it to the WCF with no PG and Montiejunas hurt. They get Beverly back and added Ty Lawson for nothing.

OKC is OKC. If they're healthy, they're stacked.

You can disagree with me all you'd like, but please don't act like what I said was out of the realm of possibility.

And none of the three are better than a healthy Cavs team.

Well you showed me.

Shouldn't have to go into detail. The Cavs are world champions with kyrie and love last year. Those two healthy + Mo Williams and Richard Jefferson is pretty much a lock. but the clippers added lance stephenson and his 8.8 per, 39 year old paul pierce and josh smith. The rockets added an alcoholic who needs the ball in his hands (james harden kinda needs the ball too) and kevin durant is coming off a lost season due to multiple foot surgeries. But yeah, they're all more of a sure thing than Cleveland.

More of a sure thing? I don't believe in "sure things". There are too many unknown variables.

I also enjoy seeing you bash the other additions while using Mo Williams and Richard Jefferson as part of what makes the cavs "a lock." Insane. This is obviously going nowhere. When Lebron likely loses in the finals again you can come back this time next year to call the cavs a lock once again.

You said the top 5 in the west would be favorites in the east. make up your mind. and lebron might lose again. i won't hold it against him. MJ, bird, thomas, they'd all lost to this western conference as well.

That's what we say every year, but they always dominate. I'd say OKC/Houston is very likely to finish outside top 5.

I think Houston is a lock to finish top-five. However, OKC, if Westbrook and Durant cannot stay healthy, may very well finish out of the top 5.
