R. Lee Ermey, 74, the drill instructor from Full Metal Jacket

 

As a youngster, I saw the basic training portion of that movie so many times randomly on TV, but I never realized there was a whole second part of the movie in Vietnam. I thought that was it, lol.

His half is the only one you need to see. 2nd half is boring compared to boot camp. I've done the same thing by watching that part than turning it off when they go to Vietnam.

It's like how "Stripes" should have ended after the graduation performance, but it has 30 minutes tacked on to the end that is totally skipable.
