Eddy Alvarez is the man. He's the most positive, humbled player. He was friendly, gracious and funny. When he was asked anything about his accomplishments he immediately brought up his mom and dad or Carlos Castillo (old Sox relief pitcher). When he was in the Q&A and Anderson/Fulmer struggled with a question he would jump in and bail them out by complimenting them. He is one of the best pro athletes I've ever been around and I feel like I'm going to struggle evaluating him because I like him so much. I hope he keeps up the great play.

I was sitting in on that seminar and I was impressed with his responses as well. I really hope he makes it to the majors at some capacity because you can tell he is a likable player.

If nothing else I think you are looking at a future coach or manager, if he ever wants to go down that path.

Had brief conversations with both Adam Engel and Carson Fulmer while at Soxfest last weekend. Both very friendly, down to earth guys who took the time to let me chat them up during a quick break in their schedules.

As an aside, the throwback Fisk jersey I was wearing, floppy collar style ala 1981, was the envy of both. I had to give them a quick Sox fashion historical, it was pretty funny.

I feel better about my #9 rating.

Like I said in the Future Sox podcast, if he were younger he'd be a Top 100. And I throw out his age due to his years away from the sport.

It's possible that Alvarez ends up at 2B.

One thing that's VERY impressive is how much patience he has...obviously, he's known for his speed and defense, but the thing that really stands out is his goal to get 100 walks in only 140 games or so.

Can't remember many White Sox prospects who excelled in that particular area with his physical tools.

Would be really cool to see him and Anderson at SS and 2B in 2018...which would really be pushing it for Alvarez, but due to his age and the fact the Sox always/push or challenge their guys with early promotions, not altogether impossible, either.

Great to hear because he was already my favorite prospect. Really hope he can contribute at the ML level in some way.
