  1. The troll posts and related replies have been removed. If I missed any, my apologies. With this this thread is reopened with the clear mandate that anymore of this cross thread argument dragging is over and will result in suspensions and/or bans.
  2. Is that a reference to the weather or the KC offense?
  3. We have definitely been turning over players in the system.
  4. There are even teams that do without going nuts in free agency, but none of them do it without a power farm system. The Sox inability to product even replacement level players after this last rebuild is a glaring failure that cannot be repeated if we want to be looking back on this era in 2030 as something that set the table for something bigger.
  5. Go easy on the guy, his balls are at stake here.
  6. Yeah, and it wasn't even the first tier guys that were the problem (well at least at first) it was the fact that NOTHING came in behind the Eloy/Moncada/Gio, etc group. If this is going to happen, it needs to be top heavy AND deep. You have to be bringing high ceiling volume so that just the law of averages helps you out. The last rebuild was all quality, and none of quantity, and then the did nothing anywhere else to support that. Once the top graduated, nothing was left. That can't happen again. The hopeful signs of the last few drafts has to continue, and then spread to their trades and international signings.

  8. This is a great post. This is definitely the most likely outcome, but it isn't a bad idea for a team looking to do everything they can to get future value into the system. The idea being if you bring in 3-4 Jake Eder's maybe you get one rotation starter out of the bunch, which is WAAAAAY more valuable than any Jake Burger's during disastrously bad years.
  9. This winter was not the best example of that, especially for older players.
  10. Criticizing the guys signing your check is never a great move if you want to stay there.
  11. He seemed flustered while he was talking TBH. His talk of the prospects was extremely weak, with some really obvious things to talk about. He targeted a couple of the guys who have had success instead of the pile of ones who flat out busted. With all of the failed #1 picks, Shultz and Montgomery he targets?
  12. I wear the less obvious Sox hats more often these days.
