  1. My buddy that moved out to California was on Wheel of Fortune about 4 years ago. He ended up going to the Bonus Round, pulling the card for $100,000 and lost. I can't remember the end puzzle, but he didn't have much help with the letters. He won a trip to Puerto Rico I believe and then like, $10,000 though. He said Vanna was super nice and that Pat was an ass, although he said they'd been taping other episodes earlier that day, so Pat might have been just tired or whatever. Funny side note, he said behind the back drop is a coach so during commercial break times, the coach tells you if you need to articulate a bit more or whatever. Also, he always sweats a lot, so always has sweat showing in the pits of his shirt. The coach saw that after the first break and said, "We can't have that on the show..." So he said they quick grabbed a hair dryer and dried his arm pits during commercial breaks. Pretty awesome stuff.

  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 14, 2016 -> 02:08 AM) Wow you're right. Hard to believe the Cubs bullpen without Chapman is worth like 2 WAR. Rondon really regressed after a great start to the year. Its funny, a Cubs fan at work was so pumped to have Rondon and Chapman in the bullpen when that trade was made and I said, "You better hope Rondon isn't going to be one of those pitchers who handles the 9th better than the 7th or 8th like Thornton was". They didn't seem to think that would happen. Rondon really regressed after moving out of closer role.
  4. Nice bowling guys! I started last Tuesday, came in with a 180 average from last year. Switched to a new ball this year. First game a 182, so thought "good at least hit my average", then had 239 and a 211... My handicap coming in was 45 per game, now this Tuesday my handicap for the night will be 45. Hopefully I can at least come in the vicinity this week!
  5. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 12:26 PM) So I was at the bowling alley yesterday watching my daughter bowl and I happened to look over at the wall where they display all the high scores for the season. One guy had an 857 series! That's insane. I'm not even sure I could hit that in 4 games much less 3. I've only come close to an 800 series once in my life with a 791. I've had one 300 game and one 299 game on separate occasions and even on those days I was only around 700 total. Luckily the guy that did it is one of our HS coaches. So I know our girls will be with someone that really knows what he's doing. I haven't posted in here in awhile... But went bowling yesterday with my son and remembered this thread was a thing! Speaking about this post, a dude in my league 4 or 5 years ago had an 858 series, which is the new house record. It was pretty incredible to see. I finished my season pretty well, I ended up a 180, up about 3 pins from last season. My son is almost 4 and ever since he was born my average has been slowly down (no time to practice bowling and improve!). But this season I did horrible to start and then around Week 10 changed some funky mechanics and did well to finish and bring my average up (Week 11 I was at a 167 average). I have a new ball that I used yesterday and in two games had a 182 and 233 - so I'm pretty excited for this upcoming season.
  6. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 09:45 PM) They were saying last time sox started off 3-1 was 2005 Whoever they is would be wrong... 2012 they were 3-1 also. But man, it is weird to have fun watching the Sox this year... Last year was such a lazy team, good to see life in them.
  7. I also would enjoy better with more keepers (at least 10). I get the point of less keepers, but I build a solid team and can only keep a small portion, I don't know. I like being able to keep at least 10-15 guys. Again, just some discussion around the settings.
  8. I'm down for this... Six of Clubs Just a few of my personal preferences since things are TBD right now. I love head to head category scoring, but a 5x5, 6x6 tops, anything more gets to be too many things to go for. And with the rosters, I'm not big on enormous starting line-ups, obviously at least one of each position and maybe 1 utility. Same goes for pitchers, four or five starters, and maybe 2 reliever spots, maybe an either/or pitcher spot as well. Those are just a few of my preferences, but definitely up for whatever.
  9. Bowled a 612 last night, my first 600 in over a year (maybe closer to a year and a half)... I did something different with my arm that felt more relaxed, so hopefully it wasn't a fluke. My average is around 175, so it'd help my team tremendously if I figured something out and can average around 190+ the rest of the way.
  10. I think I was the one that started that bowling thread a few years ago... I still bowl in a league every year, but my game has derailed. I ended up around a 190 a few years ago, then around a 185 the next, a 180 the next and now I'm around a 170-175 most nights. I still have a good time every week, but my game has definitely gotten worse.
  11. I thought this was funny... @darrenrovell: The Mets are paying Bobby Bonilla $1.19M this year. Harvey, deGrom, Syndergaard & Matz cost less than $2M COMBINED. 1h
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2015 -> 02:00 PM) Another disappointing offensive performance so far. Got to find a way to get some runs off of an average AAA starter. You better put this sentence in better context or Dick will let you know you need to sign with a major league team... But seriously, this offense is awful. Shuck being our only offensive weapon is pretty weak.
