Well the Sox won't be offering QO's until next November, and this draft will have already passed. They didn't offer any this past November, so we get no comp picks. The signing of Robertson and Melky cost us our 2nd and 3rd RD picks, so our pool is much smaller. And because our pool is smaller, we have less opportunities to go under-slot with players to save money for guys that may be hard signs. This may force us to take a college guy with our 1st RD pick to save money for our other rounds to be able to take some HS talent. As much as I want us to get Daz Cameron, I think our lack of draft picks may prohibit us from doing so. The good news is that this draft is almost all college talent, so that should help us not have to reach to far or skip over better HS talent. I believe the 10 teams in the smaller markets and/or 10 with the lowest revenue qualify for the lottery. The Sox attendance was among the lowest the past few years, ergo low revenue (unless we really save THAT much with the low rental cost of the Cell).
