Will always wonder what his career would have been like without that leg injury.

that is a great point, the other thing i wonder about is, his attitude, could he have saved his career without it?

My guess is that losing that whole year and then struggling when he got back probably contributed a lot to the "attitude" thing. He was on the usual white sox fast track beforehand, you actually could have thought about him coming up during that season if he hadn't gotten hurt in the spring.

i know, i can't remember much of that time, due to illness, but he was actually the real deal. that is up to the time he got hurt.

still, i wish the best for him.

I don't know, I fail to see how it makes sense his attitude was still a problem that many years later due to that injury. He wasn't coachable, never developed a feel for the game - he was an athlete trying to play baseball, but never really learned baseball.

let me see if i got this right, if he didn't want to listen to the, lets say the hitting coach on how to improve and he didn't care to listen to him. that is not an attitude problem?

Of course it is. That was kind of my point.

I remember he was on fire that spring.

if i remember correctly, wasn't there talk about him going north with the team if he continued like he was the previous yr?

KW and his toolsy players never should of been drafted. Mitchell was off to a 2-for-40 start at Triple-A Charlotte.

What goes around comes around. For years this board complained that KW only drafted high floor low ceiling players such as Lance Broadway. Posters begged him to draft more high ceiling athletes who could become stars but also could have the high bust rate. Now its starting to swing the other way.

i always attributed his bust due to injury and other factors. do you not agree?

Yes. I actually much prefer the high ceiling high bust rate shots the are taking in recent drafts. I do however have concerns about player development in the hitting side in recent years.

I just saw this thread. Releasing him had to be done, he has been horrible and is just a waste of space in our minor league system. Better?

oops. ok. thanks.
