  1. I've always wanted this, but I also know it will never happen. We can't have nice things.
  2. From the outside, I'd just be laughing. From the inside, it's sad. Being a fan sucks some times, these are those times.
  3. My dream has always been the area know as "the 78." Huge open space, 62 acres. One end is at Roosevelt so could still say "south" as in south loop. West side backs up to the river, East side to the rock island train tracks. Close to the Els, very close to Lasalle St station. Walkable to Union Station. Background would be the skyline only a few blocks away. Hell, if I was the mayor, I be mentioning that spot to the Bears, Soldier Field is currently using 7 acres I believe.
  4. Old man yells at cloud moment coming: Streaming sucks for Live sports. For three innings, just out of habit, I changed the channel to hockey after each half inning. Then I had to immediately go back to Apple TV and start up the stream again, and still missed a couple pitches. I know I'm old, but I appreciate cable for how quickly I can flip back and forth for live TV. Movies/TV Shows are different, no commercials means leave it on and enjoy. Live sports with ads, I'm just used to being able to quickly change to something else, then come back in 2 minutes without any slowness. Sorry for the Abe Simpson moment.
  5. Cesar Hernandez now tied for White Sox lead with 18 Home Runs (Abreu also has 18). Also second in RBI with 47.
  6. https://www.sbnation.com/2015/7/1/8841355/andy-hawkins-no-hitter-yankees-white-sox One of my favorite newspaper headlines ever is from that game - "A Bitter No-Hitter"
  7. What really scares me about him right now is that recently I've seen him hit fly balls that haven't left the park. Reminds me of last year when he would be on a pitch, swing hard, and not have enough to clear the fences. It would be very reassuring to see him blast a few soon.
  8. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ May 31, 2012 -> 12:08 PM) To be fair, Crede really had developed into a solid ballplayer the latter half of '05 and through '06. After his initial back problems he was never the same. He even won the silver slugger in '06. That's true, and I don't think Gordon will ever be able to have a 30 HR, 94 RBI season but it would be nice to be wrong.
  9. "Develop" into a career .254 hitter? The only offensive things Crede had going for him were the HR's and RBI's. If Beckham can't provide those, .254 isn't really worth much to me.
  10. It's really easy to compare him to Brian Anderson at this point. BA got to 862 plate appearances with the Sox before everyone realized he was never going to hit. Beckham is already up to 1,514. That's hard for me to believe but he's gone up to the plate 1,514 times and still looks lost. He's not just going to figure it out. He's a bad hitter. That's about it.
  11. Brian Anderson. The most disappointing White Sox player ever to me. Beckham and Dunn could take that spot over though.
  12. I'm out. I remember being very excited when they were 7-4. A quick 7 game losing streak from that point killed the optimism and it just gets worse every day. This is easily the earliest point in a season when I have already gotten tired of baseball. To Hell with them.
