  1. For me - I think they should always be in Chicago - but easy as an outsider to say that. It makes the fact that I'll fly in every other year for a game way more enjoyable cause I can stay in the city and have a great experience with the family while catching the game.
  2. I don't recall anyone else inheriting the picks. I think of Bounty Gate, I feel like Miami had something (maybe it was related to the owner & Tom Brad - but I don't recall off top of my head), and than I presume the Patriots lost some form of draft pick related to the video stuff way back when (I don't recall if deflate gate cost anything). I still would be shocked if they lost a FRP - I would suspect a 2nd rounder would be highest they go with the Falcons - unless league wants to really SEND a message. While Vikings were clearly penalized by the tampering - to rewards Vikings is odd as reality is other teams were also penalized (say any other team that wanted Cousin's was penalized as were teams looking to trade QB's)...so I think that is where it becomes a slipper slope and I presume the penalty will be a forfeit vs. a receipt of a pick. Note: Unless league wanted to give like an extra compensation pick or something along those lines. I also can't imagine the penalty comes down fast enough that the team loses a pick literally a day before the draft.
  3. Barring a miraculous turn around he won’t make it past this year and my guess is gets axed around trade deadline.
  4. The Bears were also negatively impacted by the tampering - as if the tampering led Cousin's to go through with his opt out and ultimately sign in Atlanta that ripple effect definitely impacted Field(s) ultimate trade value. Not saying difference between 2nd and what they got - but no denying Falcons being in the market for a QB would have helped Bears significantly in their efforts to move Justin.
  5. As much as I don't like thei dea of Minny picking up the pick - the concept makes sense. Still a FRP would be a pretty massive fine so it all depends on how strong of an example the NFL wants to set. I would imagine if they go this approach its more a 2nd rounder vs. a 1st rounder. But that would be huge for Minny. Huge. They would be positioned to move up or just take the last of the QB's there and continue putting quality assets around them.
  6. I think of the inverse - it makes Smith, who is my pick for Sox to draft, look even more impressive.
  7. I expect he will be who the Sox pick.
  8. I love Jimmy and absolutely hate that this happened to him.
  9. They will burst my bubble on Friday but I am at least very much enjoying this game.
  10. This has been an extremely fun half. I will say as much as I have ripped the Bulls - White and Ayo taking steps forward is actually really nice - especially knowing both are signed to bargain deals. And Coby White is fun to watch. He has really developed into a good NBA player.
  11. I’ll take some time to write it up or find what was previously written up next week once I get past some key work deadlines - as there is some cool history for those not aware. But site was founded by me and Molto - ran by a great team of admins (some have retired over the years) - and was a spinoff of SoxNet which was a news site that Molto and I ran before blogs were ever a thing. Soxtalk up after a bad deal where we joined a broader sports network and ultimately disagreed with network we joined and Soxtalk was a creative way out and it’s why this site will always and forever be independent and free. We have been around since 2000 in some way shape or form.
  12. That is next on my list while I have free Apple TV. Been watching slow horses - love it.
  13. I don't know how we can jump to that conclusion - he literally waited and entire off-season. I also don't think it is smart to wait on trading pitching. The risk of a catastrophe injury is massive - so if you can get a reasonable offer, especially when you know you need to make a move - you need to do it. He played a game of chicken and eventually I think got a better offer than what was on the table - maybe not as good as some want, but I don't think his actions this off-season implied anything panicky.
  14. Sucks - hope it heals ok with no long term effects. That is a rough rehab - presuming he has to lay flat for like 20+ hours of the day for a while.
