ST games in Milwaukee

Is anyone else going up to Milwaukee for the final 2 Spring Training games? I'm taking the family up. It's about the same drive for me to get to Miller Park as it is to get to the Grate.

We are sitting 5 rows from the field, just to the outfield side of the Sox dugout and spent $47 total for the 4 tickets and we each get a $10 food and beverage voucher upon entry. Parking is only $12.

We could have had behind the plate about 15 rows up for $15 each.

A co-worker sent me a link where you can buy a ticket for the Saturday game for $45. It includes: a ticket to the game, a bus ride to the game (leaves from the GRate at 9 I want to say; leaves 30 minutes after the game), and 2 vouchers for outfield tickets to games during the regular season.

I am going on Saturday. I always enjoy going to Miller Park.

It's always stated the problem with the White Sox stadium situation is the lack of bars and restaurants around the park. Miller Park is the same way. I guess their tailgating tradition sort of trumps that. They have drawn pretty well since moving in there.

$12 parking is nice too at Miller.

I love Miller Park. I just don't know if it's worth going up there for an exhibition game.

For the offer I posted above, it's totally worth it. If I were able to go, I would go with some buds and tailgate it.

Yep, myself, best friend, and his fiance got in on that deal.

It's also a 21+ bus event, and you're encouraged to bring your own booze. We shall be wasted before we even arrive.

I've attended Sox exhibition games at Miller Park from every series (but not every game). I went to Milwaukee for exhibition games in 2001 (the grand opening of Miller Park), 2002, 2005, and 2013.

Nice place to visit. But if you go, my suggestion is to dress warmly. Inside Miller Park, temperatures can get very cold during late March and early April even though the place has a roof. And the closer you sit near the field, the colder you are. Reason is that the heat vents are located higher up at the balcony sections.

I usually go to Brewer's opening day (something like 10 of the last 12 years) with a group of friends from WI, but my father passed away in November and he use to take my sister and I out of school for Sox opening day, so had to go to the Sox opener this year! I was very happy when I saw they were playing in Milwaukee as I'm going to Saturday's game with some friends. Staying at the casino and got a real decent rate for a Saturday night.

Where can I buy tickets for these games?

I would suggest just walking up to the ticket office day of game and buying tickets there. If you look online, there are still whole sections available. Don't give Ticketmaster any of your money!

White Sox extra players going to Milwaukee: Eddy Alvarez, Luis Basabe, Aaron Bummer, Brian Clark, Gregory Infante, Connor Walsh

Maybe they'll announce the final cuts after the game today.

This is their last spring game, so it has to be announced really in the next 24 hours.

The Brewers actually sell through Tickets.com, but yeah online or at box office, plenty of tix remain available.

Tyler Saladino is the leadoff hitter. He has a career .294 OBP (albeit very small career) and had a .315 .OBP last year. I don't mind him leading off because I obviously don't care what happens this year but it's funny to me that he's the leadoff hitter and people actually think this team is like 74-78 win caliber. That's not just fans either. Fans are optimistic in nature I think. Some media guys that cover the team feel this way. I don't see it.

They compare the team against themselves (previous year) and not against their actual competition.

Even comparing to last year though is a team that subtracted 11 WAR by trading the 2 best players on the team.
