Received my copy of Baseball America today with the Top 20 lists for every minor league. Somebody has already posted the lists from the Arizona and Pioneer Leagues.

Sox fared poorly at the four other affiliations.

SOUTH ATLANTIC (one player)

Spencer Adams, RHP, ranked 16th

Red Sox have 3 of the top 5 and four of the top 10

CAROLINA (two players)

Trey Michalczewski, 3b, ranked 11th

Adam Engel, CF, ranked 14th.

Indians and Red Sox each had 2 of Top 10

SOUTHERN LEAGUE (two players)

Tim Anderson, SS, ranked 8th.

Frankie Montas, RHP, ranked 17th

Twins had top two, three of first six and four of top 9.

INTERNATIONAl LEAGUE (no players)

Yankees had three of top 10.

Final summary: One Top 10 prospect at top four levels of the minor leagues.

Unless Micah lost his eligibility, not sure how he didn't make the list. I thought Coats would sneak in there as well. In other leagues, I thought May and Alvarez are pretty close. Guerrero and Almonte would make it for me on the pitching side.

Now wait for grading the FO I think we need to start a new chapter that starts a couple years ago- since summer 2013 when the FO decided to change directions for the first time in 14 seasons & start over. The question is how much talent has been brought into the organization the last 2 years and couple months, and I don't know, but I think you can only judge the FO from that point forward, unless you think they deserve punishment for the previous 14. Two completely different mindsets (Hawk) before and after the summer of '13.

So is the Southern League just a prospect haven right now? Anderson seems really low otherwise, although being a AA league it might be justified.

Spencer Adams seems very, very low for low A.

Outside of Anderson a few times, this year had a significant lack of Sox players showing up on the BA Hot Sheet. To me, there is a gigantic gap between Anderson, Fulmer and Adams and the rest of the prospects.

I still think Montas does something (probably for another AL Central team) before it's all said and done.

interesting, .... i wish i knew this . but if Montas still stays as a sp, i think he has maybe another yr in the minors or less.

i think if he is a RP, then he is ready.

but does that warrant any ratings????

with all due respect,

but he teally didn't do much to warrant to being listed. imo.

the sox kept him on a short leash.

He threw roughly the same amount of innings as Bickford, Russell, and Nix and had better numbers the pretty much all of them.

Edit: Oh, and Jon Harris

So Carson Fulmer didnt make the SAL list? Lol, ok.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 30, 2015 -> 01:12 PM)
He skipped SAL.

That said he is clearly better than our prospect who made the Carolina league list so I dont know what's going on there. Guessing he just didn't qualify or whatever.

I think that is the deal - he didn't qualify.
