Well, talk about a rough week. This sucks right now, and, I'm sure for almost everybody here, when the Sox lose, your day sucks. Sure, the Sox aren't everything, but they mean a lot to a lot of us.

So, watching them go down like this isn't fun. We defend these guys everyday, to friends, co-workers, etc etc, and there isn't a whole lot you can defend during this skid.

Anyways -- to the game. It seems to me, without looking at the game logs, that Garland has had sort of a good start, bad start, good start, bad start. He's pitching on an extra day's rest, which I don't like -- Garland has always been better on shorter rest, I guess he doesn't throw as hard, and he just lets the sinker 'do it's thing', just by my observation.

But he's going to step up tomorrow. He's gonna win us a ballgame tomorrow, whether we score two runs or ten. He's got it in him -- he hasn't hit a high in IP yet this year, I'm pretty confident in saying that his arm is as fine now as it was back in June or July.

Go get 'em, Sox. You guys have fought too damn long to let it slip by now.

Rather then a 'Rip 'em' or some other phrase, I'll just post the lyrics to the song which I've (oddly enough) heard twice tonight.

Help, I need somebody,

Help, not just anybody,

Help, you know I need someone, help.

When I was younger, so much younger than today,

I never needed anybody's help in any way.

But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured,

Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down

And I do appreciate you being round.

Help me, get my feet back on the ground,

Won't you please, please help me.

And now my life has changed in oh so many ways,

My independence seems to vanish in the haze.

But every now and then I feel so insecure,

I know that I just need you like I've never done before.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down

And I do appreciate you being round.

Help me, get my feet back on the ground,

Won't you please, please help me.

When I was younger, so much younger than today,

I never needed anybody's help in any way.

But now these daya are gone, I'm not so self assured,

Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down

And I do appreciate you being round.

Help me, get my feet back on the ground,

Won't you please, please help me, help me, help me, oh.

Go Sox! :)

In years past we have gone into Minny and we were chasing the Twins. We go there this weekend and we lead them and they are really out of the race. Maybe us being in the lead will change our fortunes as long as our players perform to their true level. Let's hope they don't go to Minny feeling sorry for themselves, but have recharged and will charge. We can win this thing!

They need to start playing like they know they're the better team. All these mental mistakes, and pitches being thrown right over the middle of the plate smack of a team playing scared. And I can't point to any individual player that has the swagger that the rest of the team can feed off, ala Curt Schilling or Roger Clemens or Derek Jeter
