We need a pool thing here for soxtalk members to send in for raffle tix.

Some of us aren't eligible to win otherwise because we live outside of Illinois.

Why are they not opening it up to out of state fans? That seems pretty closed minded on their part.

Legal issues prohibit the White Sox from selling raffle tickets to out of staters.

who said you couldnt?

anyways I dont htink you could relative ring prices of famous people have sold for:
William Perry, Super Bowl XX, $27,472.72
Catfish Hunter's 1978 World Series ring sold for $23,347
Jackie Robinson's Hall of Fame ring $56,636
Jim Brown, 1964, $21,656
Lester Hayes, Super Bowl XVIII, $18,200
Dennis McKinnon, Super Bowl XX, $18,055
Mickey Rivers, 1977 World Series, $11,480.

and who ever sells their white sox ring will not be famous

Yes, but all of these rings were sold years later. I think if this ring sold now, while Sox fans are still on the world series high it would get more money than those rings. I am sure if you would try selling this ring in 20 years you would be lucky to get 10,000-20,000

For those of who say you wouldn't sell it, I'll quote Ted DiBiasi, 'The Million Dollar Man': Every man has his price.
It might be an insane amount of cash, but you'd all sell it, it's just a matter of finding your price.

Is that just for the online raffle tickets? If you go to the ballpark, then you can buy a raffle ticket, correct?

I would say that it is a residency/state tax issue.

A lady in my office who works payroll for the White Sox as well received a World Series ring along with the entire staff, she also got to go to Houston with the team for the World Series.

Anyways she said that she was offered 40k for the ring the day she received it.

Sell it now. If you can get $50k for it, great. Put $10k of it in the bank, and I'll bet you can get one in 10 years from one of the players for the $10k plus whatever interest there is. I think you get one from a guy like Raul Casanova or Jaime Burke whenever they decide they'd rather have the cash.

Sorry to be so dark side on this one, but it's only money. Can you believe that Casanova gets the same ring as Konerko?

How are the staff rings different than the players/management? Those staff rings will be available relatively (maybe a year or so) soon, I would bet.
