I think Bruce would cost to much. As it's been reported that the Reds wkuld trade Bruce for Zac Wheeler. I really don't want to give up Anderson in a trade, unless it for Puig. But that's just me.

They would trade Wheeler for Bruce...doesn't mean the Mets were willing to and / or whether the Reds would take less than that (since we can presume that Wheeler hasn't yet been offered for Bruce). If you were to offer Anderson for Bruce (or Anderson and Beck), I think you probably have Bruce.

I think I rather have Anderson

For Bruce, I'd start my offers at prospects not named Anderson / Montas / Johnson(s) but I don't know that the Reds would do a deal without getting at least one of those guys. I would prefer a package built around Hawkins and Beck or Danish (who I'm not as high on as others).

@Ken_Rosenthal: Sources: #Mets trying to land #Reds’ Bruce. Also exploring other options. Wheeler most likely would go to CIN and maybe one other piece.

Would much rather have GoGo if I were the Mets.

I would totally trade Anderson straight up for Bruce, but I've also wanted Bruce ever since he had a bad 2014. I wanted to buy low on him because I knew he would revert back to his old self, and whallah, highest BB-rate and lowest K-rate of his career. Also on pace for 25+ HR, 90 RBI, about average defense. Has 2+ years left on his deal. I'd take Bruce for sure.

Of course, if the Reds are going to hold onto Chapman, Votto and also Frazier next season, why would they deal Bruce for something less than the return they want?

It's going to have to be Anderson or Montas, or there likely won't be any deal. They're probably not going to accept the likes of Micah Johnson or Courtney Hawkins.

Mets and reds getting close on Bruce:

#Mets & #Reds are "pretty far along" on Jay Bruce deal, doing "due diligence on medicals" per @AdamRubinESPN. Latest:

Bruce is good and all but now Grandy will be playing center which would be tough to watch as a met fan.

I'll be eager both to see the Reds' return, and get salty if it's not that much and the Sox could have easily beaten it.

Apparently Bruce to Mets talks have "lost momentum," according to Crasnick.

I'm driving the bandwagon boys. GET HIM GET HIM GET HIM.

At this point, I just want someone. 34 minutes left!
