  1. I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but this contract seems like its going to screw the sox over if/when the decide to re-sign Crede. I just see Boras asking for at least that much, if not more, to get Crede re-signed. I hope I'm wrong, but thats the way I see the Aramis signing
  2. QUOTE(JimH @ Dec 26, 2005 -> 06:04 PM) And the implications for the White Sox are: Pitching is getting even more expensive. Garland's price continues to go up, as does Contreras' for that matter. 5 years and $60 million for Kevin Millwood, that is insane. Insane for the Texas Rangers to stupidly give him that much money, and insane for the game of baseball. Boras does his "job" again, raising the salary bar for everyone else. Javier Vazquez looks more like a bargain acquisition each and every day. exactly what I was thinking.
  3. Espn news just had the banner saying Peter Gammons reports that a tentative deal was reached between the Red Sox and the Marlins. Beckett and Lowell for 3 minor league players. Im not sure which ones. Sorry, i missed that part.
  4. just like the movie face off
  5. I know this is kind of late, but I went to the Motley Crue concert on saturday night at the Tweeter Center. I gotta tell you, that was easily the most entertaining concert I have ever been to. Vince sounded awesome. The whole band sounded awesome. Just wanted to give my critique.
  6. All I can say is brutal, absolutely brutal baseball. Not much more you can say about this team right now. :puke
  7. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) Boston signed Leech. Talk is the Hawks and Boston have 4 year deals on the table worth 20 million. Definitely wouldnt mind that.
  8. There is also a rumor that has Madano turning down the dallas offer, and the front runners are boston, and the hawks.
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) Right now, I am honestly willing to trade Count, BMac, and Shingo for 1 1/2 seasons of Jason Schmidt....as long as we getr this piece of s*** Contreras out of this f***ing city. That's a pretty harsh statement. Inconsistent, absolutely. A piece of s***, no way. Yea, he's frustrating to watch, but I wouldn't call him a piece of s***. Just my opinion.
  10. QUOTE(mreye @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 10:25 AM) How about, "...and Thomas loses it into the night!!" Yes, I agree, Rooney > Hawk. YES!! I always get jacked up when I hear that call.
  11. QUOTE(ZeroHour @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:08 AM) What about " Its a GONER!" ? I'm with you. I absolutely love Rooney's homerun calls. He gets so excited. He makes it fun to listen to the games.
  12. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 08:40 AM) http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws =The White Sox top the Majors with 24 doubles this spring. =White Sox leadoff hitters have combined to go 18-for-42, a .429 average, in the first 10 games. =The White Sox bullpen has allowed 10 earned runs in 35 1/3 innings for a 2.55 ERA in the past five games. Timo's contributed as well. A team now built on P+D needs doubles more than HRs. That's what I like to see
  13. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 06:35 AM) phillips had a number of gems this morning on mike and mike after greenberg told him he was seriously considering selecting the sox to win the central. among the gems, he called aaron roward a "semi-regular fourth outfielder." did this guy pay any attention last year? to further taint his credibility, in the next breath he hailed the nationals' signing of loaiza. i'm not one to get worked up about national media, but that was just retarded. this guy is stealing money if this is the depth of his analysis. I dont get worked up over these things usually either, but this just rubbed me the wrong way, and put me in a s***ty mood the rest of the day. Anyways, like some of the other posters said, he couldnt hack it as the mets gm, so his opinion is meaningless to me.
  14. QUOTE(beck72 @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) opened w/ info on Frank. Said Herm was in contact w/ him, will send Frank's shoes to his Dr. Silvy's a jag, hinting that Frank should have been at the opening of camp [just for the weigh in]. Idiot yea, i heard that too. That kind of pissed me off. It seems to me he was just trying to start a mini controversy, since the sox camp has been quiet this season so far.
