Schwarber OR Happ, Jimenez and Clifton for Q, then Cubs' fan will really be shook.

And no, we're not going to settle for Almora.

Guess he's temporarily bored with IT out of playoffs and the Cubs mired in mediocrity pitching-wise.

f*** schwarber that is guy is their avi, maybe he figures it out, maybe he never does.

But he once had a home run ball enclosed (maybe encased is the better word) in glass on the top of the scoreboard...maybe they should put it back.

One of my friends who is a diehard (and smart) Cubs fan said he'd do Happ, Jimenez, + for Quintana without question. Both guys are pretty much blocked as things stand and they desperately need to add a cost-controlled TOR starter. I'm doubtful Theo would give up two of his top chips in the same deal and I'm equally doubtful Hahn would trade him to the Cubs, but I think such a deal makes complete sense for both sides.

Cardinals fans are the ones who are really shook the most for now.

I think we have to realize that elite talent doesn't want to play in St Louis. Let's be honest St Louis kinda sucks. It's possible the manager and front office are not liked either. Then you factor in the potential for endorsements. St Louis will never compete with that potential to NY, Chicago, LA, and Boston.

I'll reserve judgement til I find out how much more St Louis offered, so I hope it's just the money. Maybe the Cardinals ought to ask the city to be a bit less filthy and run-down, that might be the thing that spurs development in the north of the city.

Obviously nothing the Cards can really do about the City and its rep so it has to work on the perception of the organization. Or the reality of the organization.

It's not unreasonable to think that someone alien to this country might for a few dollars (relatively) less would choose to play somewhere more comfortable with a stronger Latin presence- albeit not particularly Cuban.

Almost feel sorry for them. Almost. But nah.

This has to be frustrating as hell for Cardinal fans. This is the second time in over a year they outbid the competition and still lost out. I'd feel sorry for them, if Robert had signed elsewhere but since he signed with the Sox... f*** them birds.

A Cubs buddy of mine put it best. "You know I dislike the Sox, but I'll gladly accept you guys getting a guy over the Cards, especially a hyped prospect."

Seeing the bidding come down to the cubs division rival and cross town rival had to suck. Your buddy sees it the right way though. Better to see that talent go across town than to a division rival.

I've come across a few good cub fans that related to the rebuild and the influx of talent rolling into the system through trades and drafts so they totally get my giddiness because they went through it as well.

Not cool, I spit up a little of my beer when I chuckled at that line. Well played.

Edit: is that worse than proper f***ed?

He's been on the Robert/rebuild trade for quite some time. This might be the most excited I've seen him as a sox fan since the Danks blackout game.
