  1. It doesn’t help that she’s a truly unlikable player to watch. Cries about everything. Points fingers/acts out at teammates. Great player, but she acts like an ass
  2. Ugh. It’s like a curse. I grabbed the eclipse shades while I was on the app. I may wear them while I watch.
  3. I’ve often thought it would be a heck of a lot easier to just be a sports fan rather than a fan of particular teams. Root for the best story. It doesn’t help that I follow miserable franchises (Chicago and U of Ill). I was 11 in 1983 when the Sox were the first good Chicago team in my lifetime. When I was 10-12 years old in the early 80s, the Chicago teams were my primaries, but I always had other teams that I liked because my teams were so bad. I feel like I’d be happier if I had remained a sports polygamist.
  4. Why would Cease sign with the Sox after his contract is up? All the things we don’t like about the Sox organization as fans are the same things the players have to put up with.
  5. I’m not thrilled about the talent level of most of the acquisitions this winter, but it feels like all these scrap heap additions are being made with professionalism as a major part of their skill set. We had a bad mix last year for whatever reason - lacking leadership and cohesiveness. Hopefully this reset of the clubhouse culture leads to some positive results. Maybe we catch lightning in a bottle with a few and have some trade fodder at the deadline. Or, dare I say, actually compete. Must be spring training if I’m feeling any level of positivity.
  6. Allen or McCaffrey should have been MVP. Congrats to Mongo on the HOF.
  7. I followed mostly sports, too, but I’d be looking at something Bears related, and halfway through the comments there’d be an “influencer” asking what people thought of her “end zone.” It was a nice surprise sometimes, but that type of stuff started showing up too much.
  8. Does 17 refer to the number of paragraphs in a typical Caulfield post?
  9. I finally deleted the Twitter / X app from my phone. I’ll miss Super 70s Sports the most, but X really is a cesspool. I’ll have to visit Soxtalk a little more now when I’m bored. There’s a similar penchant for hijacking a thread in Soxtalk, but I won’t get the surprise nudity. At least I hope not.
  10. For sure. I have find memories of the time one a fan smuggled a firearm into the stadium in her gunt and accidentally fired a round at her unsuspecting seat mate.
  11. Also disappointing that Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman didn’t show up. Booing Krause’s widow is shameful. It’s just embarrassing to be a Chicago fan. Continually stupid franchises and fans.
  12. My mom took me to TJ Maxx before I started high school - Catholic school so I needed dress shirts, pants and ties. I’d never been there, but it felt like a step up to me. We did not shop at top end stores when I was a kid, and the majority of my clothes were hand me downs. I picked up a bunch of stuff and felt good about it. Made the mistake of not trying everything on. First day of school, I’m buttoning up my shirt, and the buttons don’t line up. Shirt is crooked. I go to my second choice - same thing. This is how being a Sox fan feels. Perpetually disappointed by bargain basement deals.
  13. This Chuckie Robinson thread is right above the Cease thread, and when I looked at it earlier, I thought it had reached 84 pages. I thought, “now what happened?” I promise, I assumed the worst.
