I agree completely and I believe they will call up Robert, Collins and Mendick in September. Madrigal next year. It would be wise for marketing, free agent recruiting and the players for next year.

I agree most of this as I usually agree with CWS posts. I think we should try to sign Harper as it sends a message,he is likable and a major face of MLB, in addition to one of the best players in the MLB. A lefty power bat which is always desired by the Sox and a perfect fit on and off the field. But I also agree with RH, in adding pieces for long term success. Short term players....why? If we could add Harper, I would like to see at trade with the Braves for one of their lefty starters in AAA to start right away withe the Sox. Then use current players challenge in the minors or majors challenge for the 5th spot this year The whole rebuild will be based on pitching. Lopez and Lucas are essential to the process. I feel there is enough for the bullpen currently, with starters needing help. Moncada needs to switch to 3rd and promotions need to be accelerated for key pieces like Madrigal, Cease, Dunning and Robert within reason. 2020 is the year to be in playoffs. It will be tough next year.

The problem with this logic is: there are minimum wage laws, which are over $5 an hour and overtime laws requiring-time and a half -over 40 hours. The Sox are following the rules collectively bargained by the union to their benefit at this time. To compare MLB players to hourly workers is a stretch.

Where the club is right now after the JP trade, Kenny definately will add a power lefty bat. I am guessing Delgato on a low base incentive deal. Doesn't feel right to gut the farm right now for AGonn or Dunn although they would be welcome additions. Delgato is coming off of hip sugury and is supposed to be playing winterball.

I don't want to argue with you, that proposal was a direct quote from your post. A trade of Upton would only happen if Crawford would be extended, and they have their own prospect to plug in the OF. I think you may misjudge the value of prospects these days. Bobby Jenks also has value, except the salary is getting high, especially for the Rays. My "x-box" thought was he is a right handed hitter and while he would bat leadoff/improve defense, doesn't address the power lefty slot needed.
