  1. TBF, not many people expected this level of suck. They also wouldn't be quite so terrible had Robert, Moncada and Eloy not gotten hurt the first week. Its fair to expect those guys to miss time throughout the season, but all right away? Even the naysayiest of naysayers wouldn't have honestly guessed that while being serious. I expected this team to float a few to several games below ,500 for awhile, at least pre-Cease trade. I expected improved defense and cleaner baseball. I hoped Robert's 2023 health would continue into 24, and we'd see a really nice contract year from Yoan. Obviously non of that has happened, but I don't think many people pre-season truly expected this to be an historically poor club.
  2. Wouldn't Pham be taking Leone's 40 man spot in that scenario? I believe Clevinger in starting in AAA this weekend (maybe even today).
  3. I doubt Sox will go a pitcher short and a 5-man bench. Still could play 60-day IL games with Davis Martin, if they wanted to burn the service time.
  4. I am having a real hard time finding 47 wins on the schedule. Especially after anyone of value sans Robert (and maybe Crochet) is moved in June/July.
  5. I think he'll be up tomorrow. They've already said he's playing in AAA today. I am sure he'll handshake away the optout for a day. Mentioned this in the fresh blood thread, but with Fletcher sitting 2 straight days against RHP and Pham playing CF in AAA, I actually would put my money on the Sox sending Fletcher down and keeping all the vets. Would have to find the 40 man space for Pham somewhere other than Pillar or Grossman tho, which could get interesting. Watch the Sox DFA Sosa to keep all these washed vets.
  6. With Fletcher sitting two straight days, Pham playing CF in AAA today and seemingly set to come up tomorrow, it looks like this could in fact play out.
  7. The twins have been simply terrible this year. Sox were just what the doctor ordered.
  8. Benintendi fucks it again in LF. I’ve stated here several times last couple weeks that Sox need to stick with him due to their future commitments to him, but he’s making it tougher to justify by the day. He’s just an awful OF.
  9. I mean, he has a 3.86 FIP, 2.86 xERA, 34 SO/6 BB and is 4th in the league in Ks and likely will lead the league after tonight. I think he's pretty good.
  10. Benintendi's ass should be on the bench. Where is the accountability you preach, Pedro!?
  11. That is my thought as well. If you have Pham, Benintendi, Fletcher on the roster, Pillar feels like a better 4th OF than Grossman. Grossman is not a good defender and while he does hit LHP well, so does Pham. I just don't feel like Grossman has much of a role once Pham is on the roster. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see them send Fletcher down for Pham and keep all the washed vets because White Sox.
  12. Well one of Grossman or Pillar will need to go for Pham, who is probably arriving later this week. But that doesn't really solve the too many over the hill veteran problem.
  13. He just like casually jogs after balls. It’s wild. That one in the 9th was a very catchable baseball. I don’t get it.
  14. The umpiring has been insanely poor for the Sox this season. Maybe things just feel exemplified cause they can’t score any runs and I’m sure that part of it, but they sure do get bagged a lot on both sides of the ball. Also Maldonado just needs to go away.
