  1. This is my post from last January ranking Chicago front offices: QUOTE (ozzfest @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 09:39 AM) * Front office rankings in Chicago (in terms of which teams have the best chance to win it all). Which is how a front office should be judged. 1) Blackhawks 2) Cubs 3) Bears 4) White Sox 5) Bulls These are the typical (and actual) responses I got on Soxtalk. "I don't even know how to analyze that list. But if I go back to Paxson's era I'd say it is Hawks and Bulls and than no one else is even close. Bears are probably 3rd (again, spanning Paxson's run...Cubs would probably rank last and Sox would rank 4th)." "The only thing Paxson and Forman are guilty of is not having LeBron James. Period. Only one team in the league gets LeBron. The Bulls didn't. That sucks." "Given the success the Bulls have had relative to their injury/contract situations, I still think the Bulls FO has done a pretty remarkable job." "So quick to discard Hoiberg when the team he's coaching lacks any Hoiberg type players." I hate to say I told you so... but I got absolutely smoked on this forum for my hating on GarPax. I also got smoked for these rankings. If you want to see the thread (it was actually shut down) it is still available to read and the thread is entitled "The Bulls Biggest Problem: Gar Forman and John Paxson" Curious to see what my harsh and dismissive critics have to say now?
  2. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 11:53 AM) I wonder if that rumored fan protest in March will really hype up if Gar does little or nothing today. Most definitely will. But they will probably move Taj or Niko.
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 11:38 AM) What time is the deadline? 2PM
  4. QUOTE (bighurt574 @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 03:25 PM) To state the obvious, we really need to start drafting and developing better, especially when it comes to position players. It's always frustrating to see all these well-stocked farm systems and then we have to give up a Chris Sale or Jose Quintana just to catch up. ^
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 11:57 AM) NBA season doesn't really become important until after Christmas. This is about what I expected prior to their scorching first 3 games. But their bench is as terrible as I imagined. ^
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 10:56 AM) I agree. I can't see Hoiberg going by himself. If Hoiberg goes, I presume Gar goes too. I don't think Paxson goes. The real question is, does Paxson take over GM reigns and hire next coach or does he stay as president and hire a new GM and coach. I think Reinsdorf will keep Paxson in his current role. Although I believe he should be fired. Also, Paxson isn't the president. He is "executive vp of basketball ops". Michael Reinsdorf is the president.
  7. QUOTE (TRU @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 06:35 PM) Not gonna lie, im starting to lean in that direction as well. Moncada, Giolito, Lopez are all guys who could not only start on the OD roster, but will more than likely make it there this season.. If Quintana gets traded, its definitely a full on rebuild.. but man, there is a lot of evidence to suggest, at the least, that they got rid of the two problem children Yep.
  8. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 06:29 PM) A full rebuild does not happen in a few weeks. It takes two or more sides to agree on a trade. This is a full rebuild, be patient It's not a matter of patience, it's just my opinion that this isn't a full rebuild. We will see who is right on opening day.
  9. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 21, 2016 -> 06:25 PM) Uh....huh? I don't think this is a genuine effort to rebuild. I believe they just got rid of the guys that management didnt get along with. The same thing happened with the Bulls.
  10. They aren't going to deal Q. The roster isn't going to be dramatically different aside from Robertson gone. That's how Reinsdorf does things.
  11. I'm starting to think this rebuild is BS. They are just trading the guys that KW didn't get along with (Sale and Eaton) and Robertson (i dont believe Robertson had an issue w management, but i still think they will trade him). This is classic Reinsdorf. Nothing new. More of the same. They aren't going to trade Quintana, Frazier, Melky, Abreu etc... They are branding this as a rebuild so that fans get sucked in. But this is not a change in organizational philosophy. This is just Reinsdorf allowing his life tenured executive(s) to get rid of players they don't get along with.
  12. does anyone hear anything about melky being traded? he has one of the highest contact rates in baseball.
  13. Bulls far and away the worst front office in Chicago. No contest. Last night was the epitome of who the Bulls are. After watching that, we can now understand what goes through free agents minds as they sit across from those two clowns and arrogant (and uninvolved) reinsdorf.
  14. chisoxfn, were you on 670 tonight? talking about the bulls with lawrence holmes?
