  1. Use AAA for finishing touches. Goofy league and a goofy team.
  2. I was unclear. I was talking about Vaughn. They’re just gonna have to cut Benintendi at some point, but he still has 3 1/2+ years left.
  3. I'm not up on the rules, but assuming he doesn't have to clear waivers, they should send him down and bring Colas up. it's ridiculous the way he's hitting.
  4. But would it cost that much more to hire a base or bench coach from a winning organization than hiring one from the effing Royals.
  5. No Ozzie. The "respect the game" stuff is what LaRussa was doing. Not a young players manager. Can't the Sox, for the first time 20 years, hire a manager like a normal team.
  6. Was Pedro actually bunting in that situation?
  7. Sure, if the owner has decided not to spend any money at all on free agents and the only way we can get good is to build entirely through the farm, we should trade LuBob. But if the young pitching continues to come around, and the owner is willing to spend the amounts that he was willing to spend when Hahn was in charge, we should keep Luis Robert and we should sign two or three quality free agents who are not relievers and try to win this thing in a couple of years.
  8. Garcia has had 4 straight scoreless outings. I just don't see us getting much for Fredde. Lynn had a history and was still striking people out at high rates; I can see the Dodgers thinking they could get him squared away. Hahn did arguably his best work in with the Angels. He finally did a deal on OUR terms, taking advantage of the Angels eagerness to take one last big swing in the last days of Ohtani. I'm not sure that Getz will be that tactical; but I didn't think Hahn could be either.
  9. As of now, I prefer to think of Getz as proactive, if only to help my sanity. And I gotta say, these young pitchers are looking pretty good. But we better match them up with some hitters, or we going to be in the shts for a long time.
  10. Being on that Charlotte team is a penance. That operation is basket-case, second only to the major league operation. Send him to Birmingham so that he doesn't have the shi$$ness of the team weighting down his development.
  11. Kopech threw 24 pitches. Why was he unavailable? If they are trying to turn him into a trade piece (which they should - he has the same control timetable as Cease did), they're doing a lousy job of it. They have about 2 months to prove that he's major league closer capable of handling high leverage situations and pitching multiple innings, then he needs to pitch. Save situations will be rare for this team. As of now, he's former top prospect with a lot of arm talent, who's been floundering for a couple of years in the majors.
