i wonder how many terrorist gun attacks have a religious element to them? The last two clearly did...

- Christian and PPP shooting in Colorado

- Islam and San Bernadino

Liberal responses were different though:

Colorado shooting: "Blame all pro-lifers for the actions of one"

California shooting: "Don't blame all Muslims for the actions of two"

When did all pro-life people get blamed for the Colorado shooting? I recall there being criticism of the politicians and propaganda-makers who stirred people up with the lies about PP selling baby parts, but no general condemnation of all pro-lifers.

How about we don't assume evil intent from a billion Christians or a billion Muslims based on these actions, considering neither religion endorses them?

Both have, historically, been a part of awful things historically. Both have problems with people using the religion as an excuse for their violence.

The nexus today is a little different. For Islam, it is significant swaths of people, sects and organizations, that are pushing violence. Modern Christianity isn't doing that, but they do have a problem with angry and hateful rhetoric that fosters an environment which may encourage bad acts.

Either way, calling everyone who is part of organized religion "sheep" is empty platitude, and can just as easily apply to atheists or those in some smaller faith or spirituality. It also fully misses the point, which is people lacking an appreciate for life (something that can be a problem for any religion or lack thereof).

Wrong.

agree, 100%.

Disagree 100 percent.

Don't worry, though. Christianity as a religion is going away. Too many Americans are afraid of offending anybody regarding race or religion ... except Christians. Ripping Christians is cool. Right, Bill Maher? Hey, quit saying Merry Christmas, Christians. It's offensive, you know?? There is no God. That baby that was born was nobody special.

Sounds more like you think your religion is the only one that matters, which is pretty much the issue.

No, the issue is everybody is afraid of offending the PC police on Islam. Nobody is afraid of offending Christians. It's really pretty funny.

Get off your cross, Greg.

Why is it OK to blast and mock Christians and virtually nobody else in America? You try ripping Islam or any other religion? It's cool with me. I find it funny. Ditto Catholics. Every other organization or religion that had any problems with the abuse of kids ... it's covered correctly. That there are sick morons everywhere. But Catholics ... bring out the joke book. Cool with me. It's funny. But don't you dare imply Islam could be the cause of some of these horrific murders! Tell me what I say isn't true. Nah nobody will do that, they'll just rip Greg or make some one liner about Greg.

Why would the world be better without religion? Give me some reasons. The world would be even worse than it is without religion IMO. It amazes me how religious people are fair game to be mocked when we accept your right to be atheist.

It's not. Look at how many people are currently bashing Muslims. Major GOP candidates can do it and get applause. People trash atheists. People make fun of Hindus. There are countless conspiracy theories about Jews. People mock Wiccans.

No it's not. That's quite the over reaction.

Although you go about it in a very, well, interesting, way, your basic point here is actually pretty accurate. The PC police pretty much jumps on anyone and everyone nowadays at the smallest possible thing, but Christianity, along with fat people and old rich men apparently are always fair game. I do have to agree with your point there.

Sure. There's only a couple billion people that identify as Christians. The religion that nearly 1/3 of the world's population follows is "going away". LOL

No, but there's no shortage of complaining over "Happy Holidays".

"Merry Christmas" is the politically correct phrase to use.

I think it's the other way around. Everyone always posts how they are going to keep saying "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays" and they don't care who they offend.

I have yet to find a single person that is actually offended by either phrase.

It's similar to the whole Starbucks cup thing.

Well that's because those people mistakenly think "Merry Christmas" is politically incorrect.

But politically incorrect is a label tossed at phrases that get oversensitive people all worked up and offended, resulting in a demand to use a different phrase which those people prefer. In the case of Winter greetings, it's "Happy Holidays" that results in anger and demands to use "Merry Christmas".

The problem is that nobody was ever offended in the first place. But at some point, somebody decided that someone, somewhere *may* be offended at some point in the future, so we better replace the phrase with something else.

Now it's just become backlash to the backlash.

It's also the reason kids can't have christmas or easter parties in school anymore.

I find it hard to believe in this gawdforsaken conservative state I NEVER hear Merry Christmas (except at church) and always hear Happy Holidays and you guys who live in big cities claim I'm wrong. The PC police are out big-time over not offending anybody who does not celebrate Christmas. Festivus is a cooler name anyway.

It does bum me out that PC has taken over. That's one reason I want Trump to win.

This country would be wise to stay far the f*** away from religious zealots in politics and stick to making the country run. America survives because it's a beacon of diversity for all to come and enjoy. The moment this country trots down the theocracy path, it'll be downhill from there.

America has become strong because it can nitpick the brightest minds of the world to come here.

Wait, people get pissed over happy holidays? Or is this more the christmas people getting mad that they can't say Merry Christmas? Life it too short, I just don't care. Family I married into is buddhist, my family is methodist. My wife's "Christmas" is more traditional than my Christmas. Speaking of Christmas, I want some prime f***ing rib. I keep wanting to push my family (probably cause its a free meal I don't have to cook) to ditch the turkey for Thanksgiving and go with Steak too. I eat turkey sandwiches way too much and I can only eat dark meat turkey and even than its usually disappointing in the grand scheme of things. So many other meats are tastier to celebrate arounda holiday.

I see Christmas things everywhere. Where are all the people complaining about Merry Christmas? Nowhere. They're fictional

The people demanding Merry Christmas ARE the PC police.

Yup. Organizations like the AFA publish 'Naughty and Nice' lists where they boycott companies and stores that use Happy Holidays or anything that isn't explicitly Christian.

Btw, keep pushing for that prime rib. I've made it the past couple years and it's the best.

Say what you want about Trump. He could give a bleep about the PC police. I love that about him. Now he's saying all Muslims must be kept out of USA. If Trump had any experience at all and could contain that ego a bit, I'd vote for him over and over. I'm sick of the malaise in our country and all the mass murders!
