  1. We have gone to the DuPage Children’s Museum in Naperville. If you ever go, go early to avoid the crowds.
  2. Sign Carl Edwards Jr. to the active roster and have him pitch behind Crochet or the number 5 starter as relief for the opener. Then trade him at the deadline if he’s worth anything or release him if he sucks.
  3. I saw the note about the season ticket holders and thought that there were tickets on StubHub. I thought it might be a unique place to take my wife for a Sox game. The Club Level is awesome for when the weather sucks and from a viewing experience. I’ll go to the upper deck behind the plate on the lower rows so you can see everything. Otherwise I’ll search for good priced tickets by the dugout or in the outfield.
  4. Does anyone know how to get a pair of tickets to the stadium club for a game? Those Campfire Milkshakes sound good.
  5. Some reporting on the interested teams and the trade.
  6. Poles may have screwed this up and waited too long. But I also think the league may not have wanted him. I thought they would be able to get a 3rd but probably not a second. If Poles had a 4th and waited he may have messed up. I hope Wilson sucks and then Fields becomes the guy for Pittsburgh this year. I also hope that Fields doesn’t become a bust that is out of the league after some time. I still think there is time for him to be valuable to teams and he won’t end up like Josh Rosen. Lastly, Nagy messed him up when they drafted him. He didn’t do him many favors in his rookie year. I hope Fields can turn into a passing quarterback and reads the field better. He’s athletic, talented, works hard and seemed to improve with time. At least they didn’t trade him to some loser team like Oakland. Hopefully it means the Bears just draft Williams and don’t draft Maye. And hopefully Williams is the generational quarterback people have said he will be.
  7. Doubtful. Audacy has filed for bankruptcy. She won’t be back on the score since they don’t do updates anymore and have the hosts they need for their shows.
  8. I’m glad they have been supplementing veteran players with their draft picks and Allen for a 4th round pick is a good trade. Especially since I’ve been reading there is a talent drop off at the bottom of the draft. If Fields gets dealt and they trade down from number 9, they can still get a healthy amount of draft picks in return. Maybe they end up with Williams at 1, a late first round pick, a second round pick, two third round picks and a fourth round pick in this year’s draft. That is more than enough to fill the remaining holes that they have. I would love if the Bears were to sign Allen to a short term extension, but I also want to know more about the kind of comp pick they would receive if he departed as well as other free agents next year. Brad Biggs said something about a mid round selection in 2026, I am guessing that could be a third or a fourth, but I don’t know how that is determined. Maybe because the 2025 free agent class has to happen first before the 2026 comp selections are doled out?
  9. Either: 1. They trade him over the next week or so for some pick, probably to either Minnesota, Denver, LA Rams or New England. 2. Hold onto Fields until the trade deadline or when some team has an injury. See if he and Williams can coexist. 3. Trade during the draft as Chisoxfn suggests. 4. Two quarterback headed monster with Fields and Williams. Yes to your question. I was one of them. A la Kain Colter / Trevor Semien. Maybe the new GM and coach are finally doing the right things in Carolina, even though they should have dealt Burns for two first rounders when they had the chance. Perhaps that even with limited picks, Poles will be conservative in free agency and build more through the draft, which is consistent with what Brad Biggs has reported. But there has to be more out there to fill holes on this team. Need another interior defensive lineman.
  10. He’ll need more snaps at center. Bears Twitter rushed to point out that he is a backup, but he got work at center and if I read something right, he was probably blocked.
  11. Dollar hot dog and $4.00 polish sausage Thursday.
  12. We have the Baby Breda sterilizer that both sterilizes and dries the bottles, bottle and pump parts. We got it with our son but never used it since he was entirely breast fed so we didn’t have to pay that cost. Being a first time dad was tough since I was anxious about having a child to raise (mostly financial) and I know we made some mistakes early on, but things change and you get the hang of parenting while learning something new each day. My daughter is less temperamental and is a better sleeper than my son, but I was prepared for a baby that wasn’t a great sleeper. I think knowing this is our last baby makes things easier since we are just having two. But having more knowledge really helps with parenting a second child, there is no doubt.
  13. Nothing burger or something burger? Higgins had the franchise tag placed on him.
  14. If they stay, it will be a lifetime commitment for me. If they move to Nashville, it won’t be for me because there is no connection to the city of Chicago and my kids won’t be able to grow up watching White Sox baseball. See above. “I didn’t realize that this many Sox fans care more about Jerry losing than the organization actually winning.” @Chicago White Sox may have seen this from some on this thread, on Twitter or on Facebook, but I don’t think fans want to see JR fail. Instead, if a new stadium is to be built, it shouldn’t be completely publicly financed. JR, the other minority owners and the new developer should have skin in the game. A private and public investment makes more sense if that is what it takes to build a new stadium and keep the team here. And as I stated before, there definitely needs to be some use of GRF and development of Bridgeport so that the existing stadium doesn’t go to waste. Same here. Although Biss got his chance to approve changes to local ordinance for the new NU football stadium in Evanston, which the Ryan family is privately funding.
