    I gone

Hey all, I know I've been an infrequent poster at best, but I've always kept tabs on what was going on over here. Alas, today is my last day of work, and as such, the last day of unlimited internet access combined with the time to utilize it. I'll be on vacation for 10 days starting this saturday, and back to school after that where, much to my despair, the engineering curriculum will keep me from keeping up with all the Sox gossip as I can during the summer. With luck, next June I'll acquire a job where I can post again. So, until then, may this fun late summer turn into an even more enjoyable fall. As always, GO SOX! Best, Delben
  2. Willie Harris perhaps? I don't know, we can use him for his defense and pinch running...but I'd rather not lose White altogether, we don't have enough bullpen arms as it is... The only other option besides Harris would appear to be Ginter.
  3. Probably the team the Sox will have to fight for the Central Division crown. But that's a worry for later. For now, take 2 of 3 from Seattle and really convince me the Sox are finally back.
  4. Take Care of Business? probably wrong, but it's all I could think of
  5. cy young snyder lol... wonderful.. we never faced him AND were on the road... this should be interesting.......... well...at least it's not a day game too Regardless of what the Sox do tonight, the Seattle series makes me very nervous. Especially with Wright on the hill. KC goes to play Tampa Bay after the Sox leave town, so we'll need to take 2 from Seattle to keep pace.
  6. I think KW would be hard pressed to find a team that would take Rick White. If he can though, and get something decent in return, I'm all for it. Adding another righty for the pen would be especially sweet.
  7. Those dates are: at Anaheim, at Texas, Texas, either Minnesota (9th) or at Boston (13) and then likely either home against KC or the Yankees.
  8. This was a "draft recap" I believe, not a minor league system analysis.
  9. Still 2-1 Minnesota after 5 innings.
  10. If I recall he's been horrible whenever he's gotten a shot in the majors. I could be wrong on that though. Assuming for the moment that I'm remembering correctly, the catch appears to be that he's a AAAA player.
  11. I'm all for going after Suppan. We could likely get him rather cheap too. Maybe for a mid-level quasi-prospect, Pittsburgh seems to be taking just about anything.
  12. Huge Dolphins fan here...love the signature BigHurt!

    Hummel

Just throwing this out there for anyone with a perspective on our minor leaguers... Tim Hummel seems to be putting together a "decent" year down in AAA. Don't know how his fielding has been, but hitting .284 with a .350 OBP, and a 1:7 K:AB ratio. Not setting the league on fire by any means, but does he still have a future in the organization? And Brian Cooper isn't a name I hear too much about, but he pitched well yesterday for Charlotte, 7.2IP, 0ER. And he's sporting a 3.60 ERA, with a 2.7:1 K:BB ratio. Any chance he'd be able to help the Sox down the stretch this year (september call up) and in the coming years? Thanks for any info.
  14. As far as Malone goes, Texas is welcome to try.
  15. Yeah, kick some driving test ass and BE GOOD BigHurt.
