That's the nature of pitchers, though. You have to accept that you're going to pay bad money at the end of his contract. Â But it's not a big deal, there's no cap. It's just stupid. They will get hurt or will get rocked at some point and won't be worth the dough. If they were willing to spend 200 million or more per season on contracts, fine. He's looking for a $100 million deal and I think he gets it. If it comes to something like 5/$85-$90 million, then I could see White Sox getting involved. He'll get double or more because innings eater, no injuries so far, and above average pitcher but nothing special . Â Secondly, the White Sox were willing to take him at 3 if Rodon was already selected, so nothing has changed in his repertoire. If the medicals were fine, then it's a risk but not as much as Shark at age 31 or 32 for $100 million.
