  1. The AL is so bad right now. 15 teams and 10 of them are under .500. The Sox are also 24-17 VS teams with a losing record currently (including 12-5 VS the Central) and are 9-12 against teams with a winning record currently. This next stretch will say a lot about the team, sucks they wont have Mune for it.
  2. Ill respectfully disagree with that.. Clearly better than Benintendi: Meidroth, Montgomery, Vargas, Antonacci Better than Benintendi: Peters, Grichuk That alone is 6 out of 8 options.. a far cry from the "only 3" that you stated. And were talking right now, id still rather see Quero and Gonzalez than him. Probably Hill too. To be completely fair, the only person that is clearly worse than Benintendi is Acuna.
  3. And? He's a professional baseball player, they all have their games. Imagine what the RBI totals would be for the actual good players on the team if we hadn't spent 24 games with Benintendi batting somewhere in the 1-5 spot. When he's anywhere between 1-5 and in the lineups, coming into today, he's about a .230 hitter with with 3 walks and 31 K's and 3 HR's. That's someone who doesn't get on base, and doesn't drive in runs. Again, its baffling to me that they keep putting him in those spots and yet he's there almost 50% of his appearances. Im done throwing cold water on this thread, we all know he's not good. Sox won and shut out the Twins, turn your attention to that.
  4. I have no idea, I don't know where that gets updated in real time. Im sure he's still negative, he was at -0.6 coming into this game.
  5. He's a negative WAR player over his Sox career, including -.6 coming into this game. He's flat out not good enough period. Stick his ass at the bottom of the lineup, this is not someone you want getting the most AB's in the game.
  6. This is the second time ive criticized his position in the lineup and he had a good game, doesn't change the fact that he is the worst hitter on this team and its ridiculous to have him batting 3rd.
  7. I can't take these guys seriously when they keep batting their worst player in the 3 hole.
  8. I love Canadian club, always get laughed at when I say it’s one of my faves.
  9. The MLB Draft is a different animal because you have to play the bonus game. It is what it is, and everyone does it. That being said, taking a 23 year old senior in the 10th round and giving him $35K is punting the pick but that's just what you need to do. Much like Jimmy said, don't look at rounds its the signing bonus that really matters. The Sox got 23 games (so far) out of a player they probably never expected to see in the big leagues, so not bad.
  10. .330 / .465 / 1.149 with 21 HR's and still more games to play. There is no problem with Roch, and while by definition that's currently "worse" than he did last year, its not as negative as you keep pushing. Im not sure I see the concerns you do.
  11. I was listening in the radio on my way home from work and the Angels broadcast said he’s a reverse split guy who has been better against lefties and the Sox loaded the lineup with lefties and we’re getting mowed down.
  12. I mean 5-1 in the bottom of the 4th isnt quite yet a white flag situation, but that's essentially what they did.
  13. They really had no other option to put in for this spot??
  14. Why would he sign an extension like that when he can just hit the market in 2 years and probably blow that away if he’s a 40-50 HR guy. If he was interested in 4 years and 100ish million he most likely had offers like that this offseason that he obviously didn’t want to take.
  15. I thought I read/heard somewhere that the Sox weren't the best offer but he went here because the deal was shorter and he could bet on himself, which to me, says he's not going to be taking a "hometown discount" and is looking to get a market contract in 2 years.
